I have an issue with platitude statements, unsupported facts, and the truth ... you, however may choose to see this trough your own lens and assign some sort of "... ism" to my comments ... very popular thing to do these days in the absence of worthy arguments.
And a very Merry Christmas to you too!!

Didn't answer the question for a reference... What facts are unsupported? Whats not true?

Says a lot that you provide no reference to what you stated, defame a legitimate reference as biased platitudes, then resort to ad hominem insinuations...

Carry on

I mean, supposedly the most prolific entry level care was the Model T, which was similarly priced adjusting for inflation, and then continued to drop in price. In some cases, people converted them to tractors.

I've never been really impressed with elaborately expensive vehicles. Sure, any car mfg can build a sports car that jumps 0 to 60 in 4 seconds for $100k each. Build me a versitle, fuel-efficient, functional vehicle with the constraint of a $30k sales price and you got my attention and respect!

The fact that Ford also made the Maverick look good (given the available materials) is a huge bonus.

When someone asks me how I like it (which they do often), I say "I can haul 1300 lbs of rock or carry a full sized refrigerator, parallel park it in the city, and get 40 MPG average. I love it"

That's why I can't imagine another daily driver being better. I've even thought that if I won the big lottery, I'd still have a Maverick for everyday use (but maybe also a Raptor R just in case)

Yes, due to Ford jacking up starting prices, I no longer consider it "cheap".
I got mine for 35k and 0% interest. That same truck, with price increases and interest rates now, would be 6-7-8k more. No, thanks.

Correct...because I'd like a bed.
You can't have valid criticisms of said brand on said brands forums....

How dare you. Plus, unless you go into full novel like detail of the pro's and con's with every post, people just want to lash out online and argue so the assumption is you hate the Mavericks because you dislike one or two things out of 100. Those assumptions are increased 10 fold if you speak out against a different engine model for the same vehicle.

Again, how dare you!

Recalls indicate to me that the manufacturer is paying attention trying to make things right, especially in a vehicle new to its market.

Sell the Maverick while you can make a few $... Very few recalls on this mode of transportation and a bed

Are they paying attention? I'll use my 21 dealer visits to say...nope, they're not.

Between squeaking windshields and a damaged dash, damaged and sagging headliner, and yet ANOTHER TSB where I have to go in for the airbags...I don't think they are. 😂

Yeah, exactly. I believe the Maverick is the best option for me in my life today based on capability and price. But that doesn't mean that I would pick it over much better options for the same price if I didn't need a bed.

if it's literally 21 visits, I would think that your dealership is largely at fault for the repeated visits. apparently they can't resolve issues on the first (or even second?) try. if there are any other dealerships to choose from within an hour's drive, have you tried them?

at any rate, your experience isn't typical. not downplaying your experience or right to be aggrieved. just saying... most have not had that experience, so for many of us... yes, it's probably the best entry level vehicle.

Two dealers, going to a third. The problem with the headliner and damage is that no other dealer will touch it because that would require them fixing someone else's mess. That was 5 visits alone. Still not fixed. Hours of my time, gallons of gas, and money out of my pocket for rentals.

Companies that put out quality products care about their customers after selling a $35,000 "thing". In my case, they clearly don't.

My issues should have been flagged internally at Ford if I've been back that many times and cost them thousands in labor. Instead, all customer service has done is tell me to go back to the dealer and figure it out with them. That's it.

But anyway, I've already whined enough on one thread. 😂

My 2004 V6 Saturn Vue kicked ass for 20 years. Still debating if I sink 2k into a frame repair and keep it as the family's 3rd vehicle.

It cost me 20k at the time brand new and has done way more than one would think. Hauling trailers, small appliances in the back. Tons of long lumber and furniture with the front seat flat. Family hauler duty. Carried something like 3000lbs of cement for back yard projects (two loads). Yard waste trips tarped out.

I used to sleep in it 6'6" at lunch with rear seats and passenger seat down.

Some of this depends on what a person is inspired to make happen in any vehicle. Some are more inspired that others. Maverick seems to stoke that kind of fire.

The Maverick might get to best entry level vehicle if production can scale to meet demand and Ford puts a lid on price increases.
My vote would be for 80's and 90's Escorts. One of the best selling vehicles of that era. I paid $10K for a new 1992 LX. That would be about $20K adjusted for inflation.
The only new vehicle that hits the $20K mark is the Mirage and they don't sell well. 15K sales last year. Escorts sold 300-400K every year of the 80's
In December of '16 we bought our '17 VW jetta for $12,100 (<$14k OUT THE DOOR). Not sure how much MSRP, but at the time you could get VWs for nothing because of Dieselgate. Nearly 7yrs and 80k miles later, nothing but routine maintenance and we get >40mpg in mixed driving. Looks like the same vehicle (different body style, but same powertrain at options list) starts at >$25k now. Absolutely crushed it on total cost of ownership.

Find another dealer...
Manufacturers are responsible for recalls. If the dealer can't handle it that's the problem of the dealer not the manufacturer. I would have gone to a different dealer after 3 visits.
