Hyper Flash after Turn Signal Recall

The problem with leaving it like that is not knowing if the hyper flash is indicating a problem or not indicating a problem.

I don't think the dash will necessarily indicate a problem anyway. If there are resistors inline, I believe the resistor would have to fail for the indicator to work right, regardless of what the LEDs or any other electronics in the bulb do.

I seriously don't understand all this extra grief so many are giving themselves. The OEM bulbs meet all safety standards, are quite bright enough on their own.

And fyi the "old school" cars used relays for the blinkers- and were power based. If a bulb was burnt out, the power used was less, so the relay went faster. Modern cars are all computer instead of hardware- the 'hyper flash' is supposed to be simulated in the dash for the driver to know a blinker is out-

But using LEDs uses less power so the computer is still flashing the light but telling the dash to flash faster (after the recall).

I tend to agree with you on the OEM bulbs. They were substantially bright. Couple that with the large tail light enclosures and I felt the Maverick was way above average rear visibility. Having said that, I went ahead and replaced with LEDs, but kept the OEM's in case the LEDs became a problem. Call me visionary.

oh yeah. I'm not happy about it or the idea of turning off the dead bulb setting with FORScan.

The dash already thinks there is a problem. The bulbs are fine and my dash thinks they are dead. If they actually die the dash will still think they are dead.

Ha. I still have my OEM bulbs in a ziplock bag in the basement. I do not want to put them back in though.

If it is always hyper flashing then you will NOT get hyper flashing ONLY when a bulb is out. You would not be able to be made aware of any bulb being out including the bulb with a resister. What is the safety factor in that. The bulb with a resistor should have a chip or relay in its circuit to turn off the resister when the led fails. Is it wise to modify a safety feature and lose the ability to testify that my truck is exactly what the manufacturer designed? I would be more concerned with having to verify that the lighting system is properly working several times a day.

Agreed. I just don't think aftermarket companies go that far with truly making them compatible. It's not end of the world terrible, used to lose that function with some heavy duty flashers you'd put in trucks to make them work right when towing, but it sure would be nice to have it.

I am scheduled for an oil change and the recall update tomorrow. I only changed the Lasfit front turn signal and reverse bulbs only. Leaving them in for now and see what happens. Decided not to go full LED. Rear stops OEM were already bright enough. As well as the headlights. Turned off the auto highbeam settings too.

I had hyperflash issues on my other truck when I went full on. Ended up removing most it was more trouble and didn't feel like dealing with adding resistors.

Hey all so Lasfit sent me new bulbs the left side is working perfectly however now the right side is messing up alot. the tail lights work fine however the turn signal / break part of the LED bulb only works with three flashes then cuts out and I lose turn signal, break lights anyone else having a issue like this ? I did turn off the turn signal indicator in forscan while I waited for the new bulbs and I reverted the settings back (made a backup)

Talked to lasfit they said they gave be faulty bulbs and will send out one more fast shipping and all ! so for anyone in the future it seems to be a defective resistor

Service and turn signal recall completed the Tuesday with the Lasfit Gen 1 bulbs in. So date no issues with hyperflash so far.

I also experienced hyper-flashing after the turn signal recall/fix. I contacted lasfit and they sent me replacement T3-4257R bulbs for free. Switched back to the factory bulbs until they arrived - no isues. Upon installing the new T3 bulbs I still intermittently see/hear the hyper-flash on the dash. Externally the lights are working as expected. Here's what I'm seeing:

I had the original LasFits on my 2023 Lariat with the hyper flash problem after the update. One of their bulbs burned out in the lower passenger side. I replaced it with the OEM bulb I had previously removed. Hyper flashing went away when signaling right. Replaced the lower good Lasfit with the original on drivers side and hyper flashing went away when signaling left. Strange new look with super bright uppers and original, much dimmer lowers but problem temporarily solved.

UPDATE THE NEW LASFIT BULBS FAILED. I was driving in the rain and someone told me BOTH brake lights where out I checked my turn signal and none of them worked. I parked it in a parking garage popped off the tail light and the LEDS where hot
I let them cool off tested one more time and they worked. Drove for 5 mins and boom same thing not working.... going back to ford and I guess I will have to buy the OEM bulbs since no one by me has the odd bulb number LOL @LASFIT you sent me around 3 replacements all failing ..... you need to really get the QA under control here especially that they are 70 bucks per pack .... I am part of a facebook group and some one has have 4 sets I heard of your failing bulbs
