as posted in separate threads, I have experienced a complete shut down of my Lariat on 3 separate occasions with a "high voltage battery" warning on my ford pass app. After the warning the truck is virtually useless, limping to a stop, All 3 times I have been on the highway. Scary as hell, but thankfully nothing bad has happened. After about 5 minutes of waiting, the truck starts up again and I'm on my way My dealer had it for 2 weeks and read some sort of transmission codes, but neither they nor Ford knows what to do to correct this. I've seen a couple of similar posts on this site, but I'm wondering just how widespread this is. Doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence with taking it out on a long trip. Ford disappoints me too with their lack of a sense of urgency to get this fixed. Sorry to post about this again, just trying to get someone's attention!

There are electrical issues that matter, such as deep sleep mode, dead batteries, bad harnesses, and then there are other electrical glitches that are just a minor annoyance occasionally, such as a the center display resetting its background on its own, the backup camera being slow to switch on once in a blue moon, etc.

Our early build found on a lot as a cancelled order in January died June 1 with just 1500 miles. Diagnosed as battery wiring harness issue. We got a loaner after 20 days of waiting for one and we’re still waiting for the part to arrive. No warning at all before it died.

With this being a genuine safety concern, please file a report with NHTSA.

Seeing several reports of Maverick Hybrids having electrical issues made me wonder how widespread the issue really is. I thought a poll asking if you are or are not experiencing electrical issues such as deep sleep mode, harness issue, Ford App 3rd party electrical drain issue, or just simply a dead maverick resulting from electrical problems may give a better idea of how prevalent the issues are.

For this to give meaningful data both hybrid owners who have no electrical system issues and those that do have electrical system issues would need to participate. Thank You!
Zero issues with my XLT Lux with almost 1k miles!

Xlt received in January. 13,000 miles. No problems until yesterday... Deep sleep msg on Ford App, and Mav was dead (no power/dash lights). Jumped from my other vehicle and drove for about 30 minutes and seems okay. Only thing different is that in the last few days I have for the first time used the remote start feature 2 times so that the AC would cool off the truck (central Texas cooks). Is this related?? Well I am spooked enough that I will not use remote start again until I purchase and keep a jump box with me. I think I'll get one of those battery voltage monitors that plugs into the dash power port cigarette lighter thingy.
Have you had TSB 22-2124 done yet? Hybrids built on or before March 9th are included. The TSB is for PCM reprogramming and checking for software updates on the following: (1) Secondary on-board diagnostic control module, (2) Battery energy control module, (3) Battery energy control module B, (4) Anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. I also just got a jump box just in case.

No, I have not had anything done yet... Thank you very much for the TSB information... I will follow up.

Last Tuesday driving home from work. Made it fine. No problems. Backed into garage and truck is totally dead. No lights, no dash lit up, couldn’t even lock or unlock doors with door switches or remote. Had it towed to local Ford dealer. Diagnosed as a bad circuit breaker located some where under back seat. Took 3 days to get the part.

Friday, dealer said it’s all fixed. Drive truck to the end of the parking lot and turned around because I forgot to get the paper with the diagnosis and warranty work that was performed. Backed into same parking space, shut truck off and same scenario. No lights, no dash lights. Could not lock or unlock door with switches or fob.

Still waiting on what the issue is. Got a crappy Ecosport to get me around until it’s fixed.

I believe it's clear there is a problem, or multiple problems. It will take time for FoMoCo to come up with solutions. Trust me, Dealerships are not happy either. Techs are at the mercy of FoMoCo, many repairs have to be authorized by FoMoCo. Dealers are monitored for repairs done for the same problem, occasionally claims for payment are denied if repeat repair.
A complete loss of electrical power should be easy to find. Just a matter of testing where there is power and where it stops. If the circuit breaker failed again then the real problem is finding out why, that can be very difficult. I would like to know what part was replaced; do you have the part number (on your receipt). I didn't have a harness problem but it seems to fit the issue. Dealer said they found nothing but did something??? Updated software maybe.

Yes but unfortunately some of these have happened while driving them (and away from home), a real safety issue. Some happen in the first 1000 miles, some after many thousands of miles driven. Will it happen at 1000, 5000, 10000, 20000 miles? Will it happen to me at the most inconvenient time? These are not questions we should have to worry about with a brand new vehicle.

Part is LU5Z 14526 C : Circuit breaker Asy.

The problem is when backing up. It backs up fine but when you put it in park and shut the ignition off it loses all power.
