A harness near the front?
The hybrid is mostly a box of wires front to back, side to side, top to bottom, corner to corner. The first picture is Leroy on Armadillo Patrol. The picture with the orange wires is on drivers side rear about centerline of tire. The other picture is of the passenger side rear near the tire. Plus their are other smaller bundles. So there is Ford knows how many wires it takes to run what I would expect to be the "dumb" end of the truck?

You seem to be confused so guessing you didn't take the time to read through the thread, there are two different and separate issues being shown in this thread so no, OP is not saying a wheel speed sensor caused his dash to melt........

Oh, it was actually kind of a freak accident. Apparently a piece of road debris must have damaged the wiring harness clips and caused the wire near the tire to get damaged. Actually not a faulty manufacturer error (besides not making more robust connections I suppose). I was skeptical until I asked a guy who works at my firm who used to be a Ford service technician at a dealership. He confirmed that it sounded legit. They provided photos. He also confirmed that there is no real incentive for them to lie about that (ended up not being a warranty issue)
I'm curious. Did they find road debris lodged in something as they were servicing? And since you said it was not covered by the warranty, you paid out of pocket? Because all it looks like is the line came loose from the clip that holds it, which could easily be argued was not done from the factory or something. Unless they can prove something dislodged it while you were driving, I really don't see a reason for them to deny it as a warranty claim and just write it off as "loose clip" or something. Seems kinda scummy.

Looks like the wire goes into the hub, perhaps at least one of the wires in it is for the electric parking brake dog. Also could have wires to actuate downhill assist. Maybe counting revs and temps? If that wheel is turning at x rpms slower it might be low?
