In the spirit of citizen science, I wonder if there is a formula many of couod us follow that allows science beyond anecdotal information.
Reading the many comments offered, i see so many variables that it's hard to follow a straight line through to the end/conclusion.
So, like my birding fiends, if we had a format for data imput that followed protocols (set up by someone smarter than me) we could all get the best from our wonderful hybrids.

Good spreadsheet - mine is almost identical. Did one 21 day 7,000 mile trip and stayed at 80 mph for most of the days and MPG dropped to about 35-36.5 mpg. Live in a rolling hills area and have averaged a real 38-41 mpg driving normally....but if I coast down hills that significantly gets me closer to 42-44 mpg.. The two things with the most effect on my mpg are 89 octane fuel and use of cruise control.

87 to 89 octan gained me 2.1 mpg. My best mpg was in Wyoming and Montana...assume it was the gasoline, additives, less ethanol, etc.
Do you use 88 gasoline in your
Maverick?

I often wonder if I run completely out of gas, will the truck still run on battery power to get me to a station?
Don't do that. At the very least, know that fuel is what cools and lubricates your in-tank fuel pump. I have no idea how long motor/generator 2 will spin the engine to get it started, but this cannot be good.

I've had my hybrid for a full year now and have been recording ...
That's terrific data! For anyone who wants the simple linear equation, that would be:
[Est.MPG] = 48.2 - 0.286 x [Avg.MPH]
It seems to me that instantaneous values might differ a lot from the average ones but I really like the trend you show here.

I've only had my hybrid since Nov and barely have 1000 miles on her. My read out on the dash is 36.9 mpg which I am very happy with. I drive very little in town and most of my trips are around 10 miles each. With a 14 gallon tank, you were running on fumes a few times. I often wonder if I run completely out of gas, will the truck still run on battery power to get me to a station?
Only one way to find out. Good luck!

Winter time has been the big effect for me. I have only had my 23 since Mid August 2023 and up till it got snow cold I was it the 40 ish range. Now in winter its down into the 32 to 35 mpg range .

Sold and developed the software for one of the LARGEST retail gas stations on the East Coast. Got to know them well. Their comments told me where I buy gas. Their gas comes out of Continental Gas lines from Louisiana is the same gas that goes to every other gas station on the southern east coast...The only difference between any gas stations gas are the additives. Just one example, Costco adds Techtron fuel injection cleaners to their fuel, some other stations also add Techtron.

My Costco is convenient and is always the cheapest price, but only has 87 and 91 octan gas. So I always drive until below 50 miles left in tank and pump in 10 gallons of 87 and switch to over to last 2 gallons of the higher 91 octane..(takes an extra 30 seconds to fill tank) guessing I've got 88 or 89 octan. I always get from 1.5 to 2.9 better miles per gallon with this 88-89 octane, definitely feel the difference in smoother running Hybrid...and feel the Techtron is helping a little in protecting engine life. Don't know if it is worth it but my mpg is better and definitely noticeable better acceleration at 88+- octane.

Have rebuilt two 911 engines, one used Techtron and one didn't and there was a noticeable difference in the two engines wear.

I've had my hybrid for a full year now and have been recording my fill up data each tankful. In that time I've put on 23378.4 miles and used 639.975 gallons of gas for an overall 36.5 MPG at an average speed of 41.2 MPH. Over that time I had a few longer trips from NY to MI which had higher speeds than my normal driving.

Calculating the average speed for a tankful allows me to put together a chart like this. I don't recall seeing this done for the Maverick before but I find it interesting!
I believe you have a mistake on this entry:

9/24/2023456.713:0041.111.901$8.85938.42.713382.935.1$105.431
$8.859 cost per gallon and $105.431 total o_O

All the other entries near it are in the $3 range.

Looks like your number is $5 too high.

Very interesting with the 87 to 89 mid grade I was thinking trying premium next fill up
I tried 91 octane once and the price difference was not worth it...definitely better mpg and performance but price difference was probably not worth it.

Based on your spreadsheet, the hybrid's optimal speed for efficiency is right around 40 mph. That certainly seems to be my experience too. Anecdotally, running the climate control seems to reduce efficiency by about 2 mpg.
I would love to have more data points at slower speeds to see where they plot out. Its a great truck with or without that data though!

Assuming the dash reading is reasonably accurate, I, a light foot, Get 45-49 around town. 44-45 at 65. Probably close to 44 over the 4k miles we have on it. Driving a long drive to reach a family member close to passing , at a bit over 70, it dropped to the upper thirties. Average computed range is a little over 600. The range after a fill up calculates to 550+, but once it gets below 1/2 tank, the computed range gradually increases to beyond 600. Totally happy with this truck, one of the little joys in my life. I love the fuel efficiency.

I feel the same way about this little truck and these results are very similar to mine. A question: Has anybody considered that a "light" and educated, foot on the throttle, will out perform the speed control on these regen hybrid vehicles ?

I owned a 2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid for 1 year and 8 months until I sold it to Carvana for my new 2023 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid which I have owned since September 21, 2023 or about for 4 months so far.

I keep records on all expenses which Include Purchase, Fees, Gas, Insurance, Repairs, Maintenance and Washes.

This is the results for the 2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid:

Total miles driven = 9262.00

Fees cost: 120.00, per mile cost: 0.013
Gas cost: 907.83, per mile cost: 0.098
Insurance cost: 961.34, per mile cost: 0.104
Maintenance cost: 68.23, per mile cost: 0.007
Purchase cost: 27061.54, per mile cost: 2.922
Repairs cost: 45.41, per mile cost: 0.005
Wash cost: 51.25, per mile cost: 0.006

Total cost: 29215.60, per mile cost: 3.154

Gallons: 251.37
Miles per gallon: 36.8
Average price per gallon: 3.612

The gas numbers were from gas filling receipts.

Overall 36.8 MPG and this includes a 2,804 12 day 7 state vacation:
MPG stats from 12 days 2804 mile vacation trip in my Maverick Hybrid XLT

I sold the 2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid to Carvana for $31,404 on 8/23/2023.

Since my total costs were only $29,215.60 I actually made $2,188.40 profit on the MY22 while having it for those 1 year and 8 months.

Carvana offer price of $31,404 was $6,784 over MSRP of $24,620 and $5,336 over the Total-Out-The-Door price of $26,068.

The only reason I sold the MY22 for the MY23 is I wanted a Trailer-Hitch that the MY22 did not have.

This is the results for the 2023 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid so far:

Total miles driven = 1734.00

Accessories cost: 411.57, per mile cost: 0.237
Fees cost: 6.54, per mile cost: 0.004
Gas cost: 138.18, per mile cost: 0.080
Insurance cost: 275.06, per mile cost: 0.159
Purchase cost: 28560.46, per mile cost: 16.471
Wash cost: 15.50, per mile cost: 0.009

Total cost: 29407.31, per mile cost: 16.959

Gallons: 47.43
Miles per gallon: 36.6
Average price per gallon: 2.913

So overall I am averaging right around 36.7 MPG over a two year period.
