How do you come up with a 15% chance of a wiring harness failure? Of all the hybrids built and delivered around the world there is no way it is a 15% failure rate.
Probably extrapolating off of the 15% of hybrid owners in the casual poll who said they had electrical issues. A good number of those were radio issues or the like, however.

There was a poll on this issue done here on MTC. 15% reported electrical problems. Not a great source, but a lot better than random anecdotes. You got a better number?

The problem evidently takes time to manifest. Stay tuned for additional reports.

There isn't 15% and no only Ford knows the number. But you cannot count issues with the radio and call it electrical problems and use that as a percentage of dead hybrids. I see where the number came from it's just not a real number.

I read so many posts about problems. I thought it would be great to hear from owners with the hybrid engine that have had no problems.
I'm planning on ordering a 2023 when the order banks open. That's why I posted here.
Aside from that one time of the display locking up that has been it for me 2800 miles so far no issues still getting the 44-46 mpg on ride to work and back.

Also the truck stays 2 to 3 days unused but starts with no issues

4400 miles with only 1 problem. Getting less points on my Cabelas card for gas purchase! Otherwise, averaging over 40 mpg with my rural commute and no problems.

These group hug threads kind of remind me of the movie "Don't Look Up".

Ok, I will be the bad guy, however truthful.

I just took care of my hybrid battery cable lug(dead battery issue). I tore my fuse box out, cut the insulation off cable to ensure it was welded/soldered. So that problem is gone and will not show up.

Problem #2 brakes are grabbing, lots of members here complain of these, i drive different then most and have adjusted my driving habits so brakes are ok to drive the way i drive.

Problem #3 Big time shudder either in deacceleration or acceleration switching from electric mode to regen. This is going to be a big problem down the road, i have 11100m on mine, when it was brand new to 5000m it didnt do this. Alot of members dont have enough miles or dont know that its shuddering.

I luv my Mav, it kicks butt, will drive the doors off, gets 50+mpg, stereo rocks, quietest truck i ever owned.

Hope this helps, sorry for being the bearer of bad news, just being honest.
My hybrid 1800 miles a dash rattler in the shop for rattle and recall

You can be the apologist, but I prefer to hold them accountable.

When it happens to you, maybe you’ll join me.

Got my XLT hybrid in April. I drive door dash and Lyft and have put@ 22,000 miles on it. The recall has been the only issue but the dealer handled it quickly making it feel minor. Looking forward to many more miles of fun in my Maverick!

No data is preferred to bad data. That poll is bad data.

Given the nature of the problem, I assert that most hybrids will eventually be affected. Many when out of warranty.

I don’t understand why youā€˜re trying to minimize this issue, but respect your right to do so.

I didn't minimize anything. Just stated a fact. You could be right but that poll has no practical use or generalizability.

Well, we disagree, and that’s fine. I think it’s in the ballpark, lacking any other information. They haven’t all failed yet, but the reports keep rolling in. There’s no denying that it’s a major problem, although i won’t be surprised if you try.
