How’s everyone’s AC working in this Texas heat?

With temps in the DFW area over 100 most days the AC in my Hybrid works great.

When I first get in I put it on Max AC for a short while then turn off Max AC and have the temp dial set to 78 with the blower set between 2-4.

Works great here in 100+ Temps, my mpg has gone down about. 1.5mpg, but don't know if that is because of the temperature or the a/c

How’s everyone’s AC working in this Texas heat?

I am a Texan, and I understand Texas heat is just lukewarm compared to the heat of Southern Arizona! This time of year we consider 100° a cooling trend. Last week it got down to the mid-90s for a couple of days and I was thankful I had the heated seats and steering wheel, I thought I was going to get frostbite from the cold weather. The AC is working great!

I hit the open button and open all 4 windows as I am walking out the door to evacuate the heat. Then, fire it up and as I am driving away roll up the windows and set the temp to 68°F and the blower to about 5 and it cools right away.

If you think that's fast, try max ac.

Since I don't have my truck yet, you will have to tell me. On the hybrids, does the air conditioner run on battery or does it have a belt on it that goes with the other things on the belt?
