Hybrid check engine light comes on

1708 miles check engine light comes on after a full throttle freeway entry...I knew all was fine had driven 250 to Pismo and Cambria. Boom after 1 hour light is off,Yeah good car did it's cycles and it went off!!! I knew nothing was wrong checked everything !!! All good light went off!!

Have hybrid, have floored it multiple times in multiple modes and have had no issues.

If there was I would have been a bit annoyed as my old vehicle liked to stutter a lot if I pushed it too hard.

I drive conservatively I am ave. 45.9 for the first 2,000 miles. Unfortunately, my truck has been at the dealership for almost 2 months with No start, No power to the gauges and check engine light on.
I live in Puerto Rico and so far they Ford dealership cannot figure out the problem. I usually drive on a stop and go street about 50 MPH. I do get worse MPG on the HWY but that average Milage is for the total of all the miles I have driving. Our home is at 1500 feet so the gas motor turns on when I go up the hill.

Have you checked your transmission oil level ? This first thing to check when you have slippage issue.

There's nothing fluid actuated or friction coupled internal to the eCVT transmission assembly to slip. It's all gears.

echnically there is a fixed clutch pack between the engine flywheel and input of the transmission as a fail safe if there's a power/load mismatch in either direction so things don't break. Presumably there's some function monitoring ICE engine RPM to trans input speed and a discrepancy there is flagging the CEL.

do you have schematic where it shows fixed clutch between the engine flywheel by any chance? since this is eCVT transmission and it has a flywheel i would assume it has a clutch.

That's the problem, no torque converter!

I had the same issue two weeks ago. Dealer said it was the Body Control Module. Replace that, but then said there is a TSB to replace the wiring harness for this issue, so I am waiting on parts.

i did this and the dealer cleared the code and gave it back saying they couldn’t find any issues but told me to come back when it pops up again….
