Well they said the transmission clutch had manufacturing grease that had made its way in so they are replacing the clutch plate (damper). Sadly a couple hoses were damaged from disassembly so I have to wait on back ordered hoses before it's put back together. Will continue to update after fix is done.

Got the truck back yesterday with Clutch Damper replaced. So far running as normal. Will repost in a few months to see if fix worked as I don't drive it much in the winter.

Our vehicle is having the same issue at 41k miles. Power loss on the highway, limp to dealer, damper clutch and flywheel replaced.

One week/250 miles later, CEL and Service Engine warning come up, limp to dealer, now getting new engine.

Just a quick update here, I spoke to my dealer service rep today and found that engine replacement is underway. Completion expected shortly.

I also requested that the 12V battery be replaced, as it is almost 3 years old and the truck sat dead for five weeks thru some seriously cold weather.

Oh Wow. Well that should certainly fix all issues. Keep us updated.
I took my Mav on a long distance drive and no issues with power loss or engine light since the damper replacement. I took out an 8 year extended warranty just in case.

I am having the same issue. My problem is that the Ford extended warranty I purchased from Ford is telling me that the clutch is not covered. Fu sucks! I hate Ford.

Jcar, I'm curious as to how many miles you have and what extended warranty plan you have. In the premium, the only item explicitly excluded that I could see was the HV battery.

Did you buy the premium warranty?? It should be covered if within the mileage.

Haven’t been back here since January, but today my wife had the truck go into limp mode on the highway with CEL illuminated, and she barely nursed the thing 15 miles to the dealership. I actually got notified via the app on my phone when it happened, and she called me 10 seconds later. It’s been 8k miles since the last engine replacement, with a total of 49k total on the vehicle.

This is probably it for the Maverick at our house. It’s a heartbreaker because we both really loved it. And of course I just filled the tank yesterday.

That makes no sense it should be covered. Was this a Ford warranty premium?

So 12000 km later the clutch damper replacement seems to have worked well. No further issue on that front.
