How to: Deactivate Seat Belt Chime / Dinger (Confirmed to Work)

Is it just a splash screen you wait to turn off before starting the process? Or does the red seat belt indicator light actually turn off? I waited several minutes and it never turned off.

That light only turns off when the seat belt is plugged in. That is the light you will be watching as you SLOWLY plug and unplug. I also have a 23 Lariat Lux so it should work. Keep in mind this is only for the seat belt dinger/beeping not for the warning display on the screen.

In all seriousness, is this a temp fix or permanent? As in, you have to do this every time you restart the vehicle?

I never knew this was such a big problem for people. Doesn't it only ding when you are moving anyways?

It's a big problem for people who ice fish, you don't buckle up when you drive on lake, and you could be listening to that ding for 15 minutes... Gets old quick. Or if your moving cars around driveway... Plenty of examples where I have done the same thing, get rid of ding immediately on my vehicle.

So, even though I never saw the light indicator blink or change, it appears to have worked. I no longer have a chime on my drivers side seatbelt.

Because i often have to move my vehicle only short distances ex. around parking lots while waiting on work stuff, i hate hearing the seat belt chime...a coworker pointed me towards the "rigid 3inch" seatbelt extnder from "https://www.seatbeltextenderpros.com/ford-maverick-seat-belt-extender/" for my work truck and it works great. No more seat belt chimes because it thinks you have your seat belt on at all times.

Personal preference, I guess. But for the few examples provided in which a seatbelt would not be required, I guess I would simply just deal with the noise for a few minutes.

But I live in Alabama and in a subdivision. Ice fishing is in short supply and my driveway is only a little bit longer than my vehicles. So, if my vehicle is moving otherwise, I'm wearing my seatbelt.

Even when I go camping with the scouts, unless I am simply moving the vehicle around the site itself, I'll instinctively put the belt on. It would honestly take less time to move the truck than to do the seatbelt dance outlined above.

Is this different for the hybrid? Try as I might, I can't get it to work. When it says "seat belt warning light" that's the red one in the speedo, correct? Not the pic in the center display with all the seats shown? I tried every which way to Sunday and I can't get the light to 'turn off' to start the sequence.

Does not modify the truck.
You can still use seat belts.

Its a fix that stays ounce done. I believe it can be undont by repeating the process but the main annoyence is when Im backing in a trailer and need my belt off, it dings. Off roading and contantastly gettin in and out of the car, it dings. When passengers dont want to wear a seat belt front and rear, it dings. If I move it in the drive way, it dings. Its the song that gets on your nerves and you cant skip it. Until now!!!!!

Perfect. I'm going to give it a shot then. Very rare I would need it but why not... I dislike the chime too.

anyone know a way to set the seatbelt chime to go off once you hit 20mph? my last truck it wouldnt chime untile you hit 15mph this 23 mav starts chiming at 5mph. too soon for me. i dont mind the reminder for when i get to the main road so i dont get a ticket for it, but i would like to drive through the neighborhood without it chiming.

Eh, I tried it today. No luck. Maybe I'll try it again later on. How slow is slow and where does the slow process begin? Are you slowly inserting the belt into the clicker and slowly pulling it out? Or what? Maybe someone can make a video. These processes always annoy me with their sequences and timings. But now that I've attempted it - it has to be finalized lol.
