I just got this yesterday, so this may be some quirks with getting things setup correctly. I've updated the device to the latest firmware and factory reset, and reconnected everything.

I'm trying to figure out how to get the TNVTEC carplay unit to consistently connect and launch automatically when I get in the truck. What I'm gathering is that the device boots, your phone does a bluetooth handshake with it, and then your phone switches to WIFI connection to the unit to launch Carplay, and your bluetooth connection to the device drops at that point.

It seems my phone is showing WIFI connected, but it's not always launching Carplay. Does anyone else know if there's something I need to do in particular to make sure the handshake launches correctly? Do I need to go into the 192.168.2.1 settings menu for the device and make it delay 5 seconds to let the SYNC3 system boot up first maybe?
go to iphone settings, general/car play/carplaybox/turn on carplay to start automatically

After 2 weeks of time wasted on the CPlay2air(which works fine in my Porsche and the wifes CRV) I decided to try the Carplay Box.

Amazon.com: Wireless Carplay Adapter, 2022 TNVTEC CarPlay Activator Dongle for i Phone with Factory Wired CarPlay for 2019-2022 Cars Model, Convert Wired to Wireless CarPlay, Support Online Update : Electronics

It worked immediately!

Once I connected and made sure it was working I unplugged it from the carplay usb port and plugged it into the car charge usb port and made sure my phone was connected to it via wifi and then went to 192.168.2.1 and scrolled to the bottom of the page and hit the upgrade button. Took less than 60 seconds to download and 30 seconds to upgrade the unit.

Then I plugged it back into the carplay usb port and it connected right away.

Too easy!

Now I'll use the double sided tape and stick it under the connection out of sight

I just received the "Wireless Carplay Adapter, 2022 TNVTEC CarPlay Activator Dongle for iPhone" from Amazon. Since I don't have my Maverick yet, which I bought this dongle for, I installed it in my 2021 Toyota Venza (Sync 3). Wow!!! This dongle is amazing!!! Works fantastic on my Sync 3, ApplePlay in my Toyota. Super easy to install and works instantly. I never used my ApplePlay before because I didn't like having to hook up my cable every time I wanted to use my iPhone in the car. Plus I didn't like having the cable all over the center console. The TNVTEC CarPlay plugged into the USB port of my car and sits in the cell phone charge pad and is out of the way. The cable is short. Siri works perfectly along with other items on the phone. Pretty awesome how this technology works. I can keep my eyes on the road and utilize my phone. I tried out "Spotify", which works wonderfully and sounds great. I have been paying for SiriusXM service in my Toyota but now that I have discovered the TNVTEC CarPlay and "Spotify", when my subscription expires, forget about renewing it. So since my Maverick is going to take awhile to get built and shipped, I'm going to keep checking out Amazon for another $15 coupon. Not available at the time of this posting. I'm going to buy a second TNVTEC CarPlay that I can use in the Maverick. The one I just bought for the Maverick is now settled in my Toyota. The TNVTEC CarPlay is a great product that I highly recommend. I just hope Amazon provides more of those $15 coupons.
I have been checking back on Amazon for another Wireless Carplay Adapter, 2022 TNVTEC CarPlay Activator Dongle for i Phone for another $15 coupon. My first order was February 4th. Today, February 17th I saw another $15 coupon offer. That was what I have been waiting for, so I ended up placing another order today for my second TNVTEC. The first one I purchased was originally for my Maverick that I hope to receive someday. I tried it out on my Toyota and loved the results, thereby keeping it in my Toyota. So I again ordered another on, this time it will be for my Maverick. I have learned that the $15 coupons are sporadically issued. So from February 4th until the 17th there has not been any other coupons until today (17th). So I lucked out two times now. So my purchase price is $69.90, not including tax. Now the bad part. These CarPlay dongles must be getting popular because the expected delivery date is now April 10-14th for this order. So I guess the word is getting out about how awesome this dongle is. It seems the average wait time for getting your Maverick is around 6 months from order date. If that ends up being the case for me, I hope to get my Maverick by the time this second order of the TNVTEC comes in. So don't give up on this CarPlay dongle and the $15 coupon. Keep checking back on Amazon. Plan on a delay for delivery though. Good luck.

Well, so much for the "bad part". Amazon messed up on estimated time for delivery. With the estimated time for delivery of April 10-14th, I was pleasantly surprised to receive my order today (February 24th). Oh wouldn't it be wonderful if Ford messed up on estimated time of delivery and made my Maverick delivery earlier than expected. By the way, I don't even have an estimated time for anything from Ford at this point. My order date was October 9th. I'm giving myself an estimated time of 6-7 months. Seems to be the average from what I am seeing. Anyway, onto subject of the TNVTEC. May arrive earlier than expected. Good luck!

Lots of reports here that Cplay2air doesnt work on the XL/XLT. I know from 1st hand experience as well. I have the Cplay on my other cars and it works very well, but no luck on the Mav.

There are alternatives that do work Amazon.com: Wireless Carplay Adapter, 2022 TNVTEC CarPlay Activator Dongle for i Phone with Factory Wired CarPlay for 2019-2022 Cars Model, Convert Wired to Wireless CarPlay, Support Online Update : Electronics

If you get it working, please post an update.

Another vote for the TNVTEC adaptor on Amazon. Worked perfectly on my XLT radio. Takes about 30 seconds to handshake every time I start the truck, but it's rock solid after that. Highly recommended.

I returned my TNVTEC airplay dongle, couldn’t get a consistent initialization connection with my Lariat Mav, but I would still recommend anyone else to give it a shot if you use Amazon Prime or something with a guaranteed return option.

I did work with the seller (manufacturer) to troubleshoot but nothing got me a consistent startup connection; sometimes took 1 to 3 minutes, couldn’t find any pattern to it; it’s totally possible it was just a fluke with my specific phone. It was great when it connected fast, in under 20 seconds. Your specific phone model and experience with connection will likely differ from mine, but just wanted to add my data point in the mix.
