I like that it gives you a really quick easy option too if you decide you want to plug a phone in instead. Nice.

Edit: So it seems this is one of their main competitors (that should link to the 2021+ model cars one). OP one appears to be $99 + shipping, the Amazon carlinkit one is $98 free shipping. Fakespot plugin flagged OPs as poor reputation and the Amazon one got an A-rating as a seller, for whatever that is worth.

The below review also reports bad customer support and no return process mirroring the bad Fakespot seller score for OPs:
http://appletechtalk.com/carplay2air-wireless-apple-carplay-adapter/

And from Reddit:

Might be safer to go with the Amazon competitor considering the above, at least you know you have free shipping and free returns, its slightly cheaper, and seems it may be slightly better.

There's also a new mini-version which reviewer says is identical, just smaller, and it worked fine but did crash on him after a few hours, and its the same price. Thinking the bigger carlinkit 3.0 one has better cooling and is what I'd go with:

Also, because the amazon car2link USB cable is not permanently attached to the device, you can use your own USB cable, perhaps one with a 90o flush fit.
so after approximately 4 hrs, the CarPlay adapter no longer works as it should? Does it have to be turned off after 4 hrs? Are there any adapters that can be used in person is going to be listening to their car radio for approximately 10 to 11 hours straight?

You're quoting an older post so it's a bit moot.

For one there's a carlinkit 4.0 out now that has a newer chip they can do both car play and Android Auto for the same price https://slickdeals.net/f/15824500-c...pter-blue-60-70-via-mobile-app?src=SiteSearch

Secondly people were saying the carlinkit 3.0 didn't work well with the Ford maverick specifically.

I tried the Carlinkit 4, would not work in my non Sync XLT, would try to start Carplay then stall, it worked in my two other vehicles with Sync 3 systems but was flakey in my 22 Escape. Went back and forth with their tech support for a week, decided to just return it to Amazon.

I bought the Ottocast U2-X, and it does at least work in the Maverick, I went with the U2-X because I'm running Andriod Auto but also have Iphones in the family, it run the radio interfaces as Carplay connection (The Carlinkit did, or tried to do the same thing). The Ottocast is working, not completely without issues and is a little buggy, fails to connect sometimes and needs to unplugged to get it working again. I'm also running the Beta firmware downloaded from their website which I find work better than the stock firmware, interface is better and seems to boot up faster.

Warning to those with the TNVTEC model, iOS 16 has quite a bit of hiccups ( at least in the current developer release). I am always an early adopter, so I was quick to get iOS and WatchOS on the developer releases after WWDC. I have to power cycle the TNVTEC sometimes twice now to get it to work, but it was near flawless prior to updating to iOS 16.
Is the TNVTEC working okay for you now with iOS 16?

yep!

also upgradrd from an XL to Lariat Lux last week. Performance is super snappy, Sync 3 head unit is much faster with the adapter.

really happy with this adapter, and support with them was great too. I asked questions about cable alternatives and they offered to pay for one of my choice. I didn’t accept but the gesture meant a lot.

Was this the one that didn't work with the Sync 3 on the Lariats?
It worked inconsistently in my Sync3 Lariat, but with the caveat that it sometimes it would connect fast and other times took one+ minutes. But it's possible someone else didn't have the same issue. Or maybe they've also updated firmware to work better. If you can order on Amazon with free returns, I'd suggest just trying it and see. Return if it doesn't live up to its promise.

I have the CPlay2Air version and there was an update in December for it. It works smooth on my Lariat Sync 3. Every blue moon I have to unplug it and plug it back in. Overall very happy with it.
