Went to school in Fredonia, and lived in Dunkirk in the 70's. Fredonia was a college party town and Dunkirk was a working people's soon to be a rust belt town. Happy days.

I'm originally from Silver Creek, then moved to Dunkirk when I was 10. I graduated DHS in '78. Dunkirk went to Hell in a Handbasket when Urban Renewal tore down all those buildings in the '70's, the steel plants closed, Kraft Food left, Cliffstar, and other factories and businesses left. I remember all of the corner stores and the small dairies that are no longer there. I spent a lot of time playing basketball at the Salvation Army and at the YMCA, going roller skating, and bowling at Lucky Lanes and Red Dot Lanes.
I go back up that way once or twice a year to visit my mom in the Chautauqua County Nursing Home, plus visit what few relatives are still alive up there. My wife and I moved out of Dunkirk in '82 when I joined the Army, traveled the world, and never looked back. I spent 11 years on active duty, and we moved to Pensacola, FL when I was medically discharged. Moving back to Dunkirk never, ever crossed our minds!

How many Mavericks have you seen in the wild? And where was it? I ask because I’ve only seen two, and that surprises me given their popularity.

The first one I ever saw was in a Disney World parking lot in Orlando in December.

I saw one in St. Louis driving down the road a week or so ago.

I’ve seen a few sitting on dealer lots, but those don’t count

There are six that I have seen, possibly more as there could be two or three of area 51 in the local valley.

Two besides my XLT EcoBoost. Got mine is April, a week later my neighbor across the street drove his home. Yesterday I parked next to an Area 51 XLT, same equipment as mine, nice looking. Just north of Cincinnati.

I worked in the Dunkirk/Fredonia area between 1976-86. I recall the fish houses along the lake that offered smoked whitefish. Great memories...

I usually see one a week other than the Cactus Gray in the neighborhood over. One a day for the past 3 days: Velocity Blue on Saturday, Cyber Orange on Sunday, Iconic Silver today.

I see at least one XL EB everyday and it still impresses me each time I drive it. Waiting on a 2023 Hybrid now and wondering how it get better than what I have now.

I've seen 7 over the last few months in my area, Kitsap county, WA.
One XLT Area 51 at the dealer down the street-gone next day
One XLT Alto Blue at the dealer down the street-gone next day
One XL Are 51 parked at the marina down the street
One on the backroad way home from work, followed an Alto Blue XLT for a mile
One white XL fleet vehicle for City of Port Orchard
One white XL fleet vehicle for Belfair State Park, WA
One Area 51 Lariat at West Hills Ford where I ordered my XL

The first time I saw one was on the way to work a few months ago. It stuck out like a sore thumb-a shiny new SMALL pickup. I saw the tailgate and looked it up that day. Never heard of them before. Always wanted an old Ranger since highschool, but now with a family an old Ranger doesn't make sense unless it's a second or third car. My idea for next cars was a used Prius or Honda Fit plus an old Ranger, then I saw the Maverick...

Just got home from a canceled trip to Florida (thanks ian), and we saw at least 5 passing us on RT95 on the way down to Georgia. One even slowed down and honked and waved. Then saw 2 more on the way back home on RT 95 again.
