I don't have this one, but saw it online when I was looking.

Says it is in stock and fits the Maverick.
Huh, interesting. That is more expensive than the local ARE dealer charges for a DCU with similar features (3 doors, one solid front window, roof rails), and the DCU has more interior volume since it has a perfectly vertical rear door and sits slightly higher than the cab, but at least there's no 6-8 week lead time.

I think I'd have to go with the DCU still. DCU's are pretty simple (no track system to slide the sides and the roof together) and welded together, so they are fairly water-tight and easy to repair. Also more space and features for the money. For $3,500, I could get a DCU with carpet headliner, full-length tool box on one side, and windows with security screens.

I understand. Like I said I don't have one and can't speak to its quality. Just saw it fit and no wait time.

Good luck.

Unless you have an incredibly common, high-volume vehicle common to fleets (Ford F-150, Super Duty, GM 1500), you'd be hard-pressed to find anything in stock.

Snugtop, Leer, and ARE all make toppers for the Maverick, but I imagine they are made to order. I'm personally a fan of the ARE DCU.

I ordered an ARE V series cap and was told I'd need the bed reinforcement brackets installed. I have gotten conflicting info on whether I need them or not. Anyone run into this ?

I don't see why you'd need them since the Ford-branded Leer caps don't require them. I was going to say...might be a good option, but a unibody Maverick with a 4.5' bed is not a square-body long bed F-150 that twists like a pretzel and won't let you shut the tailgate if you put one wheel on a curb. I think you'll be fine.

Thank you for the reply. This is all on what the ARE cap installer is saying. A lot of this I saw was about the Ranger (pre Oct 2024). My dealer said this is the first they'd heard of it. I just don't wanna pay extra for stuff I don't need. Plus, I worry about voiding warranty. Thanx again !

Why didn't you just buy an SUV. If you put on a shell it limits the size of items that you can fit and looks more like a car. I get it to each his own though.
Maverick is larger under the cap with 5 seats than any mid size SUV, including a Tahoe or anything smaller. Better payload too. I fit a king bed (in box) and king mattress under the cap and drive it 3 hours, SUV would have been hatch open or trailer. The safety is obvious too, I don't want to ride with sports equipment or anything in the passenger area. I've have minivans, they stunk like all the sweaty, dirty stuff and cooler in the back. Very unsafe too if you roll over. There is no substitute for a truck bed with a cap. I've fit 4 people with gear on 1000 mile road trips with no top box or hitch accessory. An SUV under 80k can't touch that.

Very well said, Tom_Tucker, and that's a great point about keeping the cabin as stinky-free as possible! Some of the materials I use in my lawn care business do have an aroma; I've sometimes wondered what I've gotten used to, but a passenger would smell in my older vehicles. Hopefully, I can keep the stink of work sweat out...

Hi, newbie here...
While I'm having a ball driving it around, I bought my Maverick as a work truck; I don't need anything bigger.
Part of my need is a full camper shell to protect bulky equipment from weather. I was shocked, though, to see how rare they are. I suppose part of it is that the Mav is so new, but the only source I could find is Leer, who builds them to order for both Ford and H&H. They both have wait times of weeks and cost in the multiple thousands.
Is anyone else in the same boat??
Leer has a Labor day promo on now for $200 off their camper shells. I purchased one for my truck for $2,758.49 OTD during one of their sales promotion. This included the up charge for the Azure Gray color.

I'm purchasing a bed cap from ARE V series. Yes, it is expensive (over 3k). My question is they told me it needed bed reinforcement brackets installed. The only info I found on this is that it was the pre Oct 2024 Ford Ranger that required these.

Thanks, but too late. I ordered (and paid for mine) a few weeks ago.
HOPEFULLY, your info will help another owner, though. 😎

I finally got my Ford-badged Leer cap last week and was installed at Dobbs Ford in Birmingham AL. Total cost was just under $5500 (gulp)
