Saw a video in which the reviewer made a big point of the Lariat's driving position being too low...and his knee hitting hard plastic on the door.

I realize this is very subjective...but please give me your experience based observations.
If it's going to be like a Toyota Tacoma, I won't waste more time looking for one to test drive...

Thanks for your time1

Not sure how much this helps, I don't have the power seat - but the manual seat height is adjustable, the wheel is tilt and telescopic and we have had no issues finding the sweet spot. I am 6'-1", my wife is 5'-2". I have more room here than any of my 'yotas, including my wife's Highlander. I believe the 8-way power seat does the same.

No issues with mine I do keep it up fairly high just for the better view. When I did have it all the way down I noticed I hit my knee when I went to climb out but I was in a rush getting out. Could be an issue maybe but again I keep my seat elevated now anyway. Also the lumbar adjustment works great.

I test drove a Lariat on Friday. I needed to pull the seat back and change the angle of the back rest, but the seat height was good so I didn't mess with it. No issues at all. I'm 5' 10". Unfortunately, because I didn't play with it I have no idea whether the height was set at closer to the lowest or the highest position.

I'm interested in the lumbar support adjustment. I have a herniated disc in my lower back. The more pronounced the lumbar support, the better. Can anyone out there in Maverick land advise how aggressive the lumbar support is. My local Ford dealership can't keep a Maverick on the lot. The Mavericks that come in are spoken for even before they are unloaded from the trucks. As soon as the dealer details the incoming Mavericks, the new buyers are waiting at the door to pick up their new purchase. I told the dealer it would be nice to have a Maverick available for show and tell. They would like to do so but can't. People want the Mavericks sight unseen. For this reason, I am unable to check it out myself.

I’m six foot and have had my Lariat since Wednesday. 250mi.

The seats are very conforming and extremely comfortable. My legs don’t hit anything, but that may depend on how close to the dash you position your seat.

One thing that has confused me, maybe you can confirm -- is there separate powered adjustment for vertical position, and forward/backward tilt, or are those tied together?

Separate for each. One lever will do both forward and back and will also let you adjust tilt.

I’m two days into ownership and so far find the power driver seat (XLT Lux pkg) to be very comfortable. Specifically I like the support in the lower lumbar area. I have been having lower back issues over the last few months and so it was an area of focus for me, and now very happy with the feel of the seat.

Thanks for that info. I was hoping the lumbar support would be good. That will make my Maverick purchase that more meaningful.

It's fairly good. I don't normally even use it in my other vehicles but I noticed I have in this one so far. But I've only had it a few days here and there between being things measured, fitted, and added. Prob be a few weeks before I have it full time and driving 56hrs over a week. I'll have a better idea then. Only 500 miles on it so far.

I have a Lariat and don't like my seats. I have three other Ford products and all are extremely comfortable. Not so with the Maverick. I can't find a position that is comfortable and the "plastic leather" is very hot.
As a side question, does this site have a "for sale" spot?

Have had my Lariat for 6 months. I’m a bit over 6ft and to me the seats are very comfortable and sit at the right height. On most cars I have to take a break at the 2 hour mark but with the Mav I can push out closer to 3 hrs. I rarely use the lumbar support but when I do, it seems fine.
