WTF is a “courtesy wipe” on my dash menu? On or off, no difference! That I can tell anyway.

When you spray your windshield, the wipers automatically run a few cycles to clean off the liquid. However, a few seconds after they stop, a single "extra" wipe occurs. This is the Courtesy Wipe, meant to catch any leftover fluid that often streaks down from the top of the glass after the initial cleaning.

I think if you have a lane keeping assistant it wipes your windshield to keep the sensor clean.

I myself would be leery of anything that involves a cable that piggy backs off another cable. I would hardwire it to the fuse panel and have the device have its own fused circuit.

Ford is conscious of those with OCD and need to make sure the windshield is wiped clear of every single excess drop of water. If you click yes, your OCD should last no more than 3 seconds every time you want it to clean the windshield. Please keep in mind you should keep a couple of jugs of windshield washer in the trunk in case you run out.
