This is interesting:

Message from seller FiTCAMX Brand Store: Thank you for your reply. Could you please remove the cover above the rearview mirror and take some photos of the connectors inside? We would like to check whether there is another available connector that can be used to power the camera. If there is a compatible connector, we can provide the appropriate cable so the camera can draw power from it. Best regards,
Here's one of them (that feed the overhead lamps)

Hard to believe that something we see on the internet is not factual!
Well given the fact that they offer free returns the expense would be seller. So ....

WTF is a “courtesy wipe” on my dash menu? On or off, no difference! That I can tell anyway.
I think if you have a lane keeping assistant it wipes your windshield to keep the sensor clean.

No. If you do a washer cycle on your windshield, it’ll then pause for a few seconds to let gravity do its thing to the fluid above the wipe line and then it’ll do another single cycle.

Or, the seat checks your pants to see if you need another wipe. . Your choice.

I've had rain sensors on my daily for the last 13 years and... I'm really not convinced they're useful. At least no more than any, regular intermittent system.

Most rain, you just want them on. Or REALLY on. Anything lighter, it's tricky to get the timing exactly where you want it, with or without a sensor.

How well rain sensing wipers work definitely varies from different auto manufacturers. My wife's old Nissan Murano had rain sensing wipers that seemed to have to rhyme or reason to how they would work. They usually would put the wipers on super fast for no reason at all even in a light mist. Then other times it would be pouring and they would leave long pauses between wipes where you couldn't even see out the windshield.

Then she had a Grand Cherokee and the rain sensing wipers were much better although they still weren't great.

Last year she got a brand new Toyota Highlander and the rain sensing wipers on that work damn near perfectly. It's literally a set it and forget it and it keeps the windshield clean in a mist up to a downpour. The only time they didn't perform great was during a freezing rain/ice storm which is understandable.

Mine (2nd gen Mini) has never done anything weird. It makes okay guesses. But nothing with more accuracy than a low-med-high intermittent setting. It's...fine.

I'm happy to add this to the list of Weird Omissions from the Maverick, but it's not one that I feel very strongly about.
