I didn’t read every response, so you probably have been told this. Just plug a trailer wiring light check device. When a trailer is plugged in on Ford vehicles Auto Start Stop is disabled. Sorry if this is a repeat.
I don't recall seeing that mentioned - then again don't read many towing threads.

So this would work to stop AS/S?
And provide extra brake/backup light?
Or is more required that uses other lines?

I hated the stop start at first, well still do but.
Once I made turning it off part of my start up procedure and commuted it to memory it is no longer an Issue.
I don’t even have to look down. That big ass button is easy to punch as my hand is in motion and passing right by it as I latch the seat belt.
I had learned that by my 2nd week of ownership....
That was.. 900 days ago... 😎

Could care less what UPS did nor their studies, it’s total aggravation and BS in my opinion. Even Ford and other mfg’s deleted it entirely during the chip shortages
Do you mean you couldn’t care less? Because if you could care less, that means you at least care a little.

I completely agree with the different strokes comment. No question. Yet I must ask what is the "frustration the dumb ass feature causes"? I am perplexed as to any possible frustration.
If my air conditioning compressor isn’t spinning, my truck is probably getting warmer than I want.

I do not want to “man up” and just tolerate a momentary lack of HVAC. I paid for a 100% climate-controlled cabin, not a 98.3% climate-controlled cabin.

Also, one of the reasons I elected to receive a college education is that I wanted to be sufficiently financially independent that I would not ever have to overly concern myself with a 6-8% fuel savings. In any case, I am starting with a baseline fuel economy (WITHOUT A/S/S) significantly greater than the average truck.

I don’t fret for the starter, battery, or any of the other electro/mechanical paranoia related to A/S/S that people spout. If I wanted a starter that would last the lifetime of the vehicle I certainly wouldn’t have bought a damn Ford in the first place.

I don’t understand why people have a problem with the auto stop/start. It is so seamless. What’s the point of having the engine running when you are at a stop? It is just wasted energy to be thinking about it.

Red light, green light, on, off, on off, etc., good thing we have Denso heavy duty starters in these babies! 🤣😉

Hate it. How do I disengage permanently? Any obd type plug in deletes?
I also bought the auto stop eliminator, before my truck was done being built. Just plug it in and no problems what so ever. Best investment I made, remembers whatever you last pressed. Leave mine off all the time.

It’s almost as you haven’t read the preceding four pages, much less the post above yours. 🤷‍♂️

Being “seamless” isn’t a good justification. It’s not like people are getting startled by the engine restarting and the trucks are careening into intersections.

He read it just fine. He also understands that it isn't about whether you can afford the gasoline. It is about protecting the planet. BTW, the A/C compressor runs only about 30% of the time even under the highest demand.

Your sanctimony is exaggerated and misdirected, but I support your enthusiasm for the environment. Please consider heading on over to an oil thread of your choice now and being condescending to the guys that think they have to change the oil in their truck every 5,000 miles, eh? A/S/S Haters Club unite! Cheers, bud.

And everyone of us have given our reasons for wanting it OFF. You refuse to accept that we still have as William Wallace would say FREEDOM!
I have no problem with you wanting it off. I simply have not heard a single reason that goes beyond preference. Preference is a perfectly justifiable reason. I was simply hoping that someone could present a concrete problem that was caused by the Auto Start Stop.

No worries. Cheers.

I wasn't being remotely condescending until I wrote "You are not suffering".

Apologies.

I have the hybrid. I don't even notice when it goes into "electric" when I stop, or turns the ICE on when needed. I'm often rolling all the way through the intersection before the 'puter decides to switch from electric to combustion when I accelerate hard. I guess the hybrid is a cheat compared to straight ICE, cuz then the engine has to turn over before you can even start rolling.
