What's the highest speed y'all have gotten to before the ICE turns on?
..
It does not work that way, necessarily. The ICE will come on first thing on a cold morning start so you can have heat in the cabin and can turn off at some point and use residual heat for warming the cabin. The entire system is seamless and does whatever the software tells it to do.

Your right foot plays a big role just like it does in an ICE car for determining the best m.p.g. I use cruise control all the time as it seems to yield the best m.p.g. My RAV came with radar adaptive cruise control and I really like it.

I know I have a RAV not a MAV, but there is very little difference between the two hybrid systems so that is why I am commenting. In the end, just drive the vehicle like you always do and you will be impressed.

On a side note, I would like to encourage anyone who might own either engine to start tracking with Fuelly if you can. Would make it easier to see a better aggregate of data and it’s more accurate over time than just “I took a trip and got 30mpg” posts.

Thanks for the link, 12 2022 Mavericks so far.

I understand all of what you said. That doesn't really answer my question nor does it invalidate it.

Let me rephrase it. My ICE always turns on when I get to. ___ mph.

Since Fuelly is free, what are they getting out of you to sell in order to make a profit? I don't read the small print and haven't joined but wondering what data they are extracting from your phone/car/self that they are selling to someone.
Honestly if you take a look around the fuelly site it is pretty clearly someone's labor of love. It has been around a long time, but is not some snappy gotcha advertising sort of data collecting initiative.

It is web-based - the only thing they get out of you is what you put in. Seems like maybe they have an associated app, but I've never bothered. The site is relatively basic, and I can just text my 3 key details each fillup (miles, price, gallons - MPG) and add any other notes I want, they then get saved to my truck's profile. If you have more than 1 vehicle you simply assign it a letter, and put that letter at the beginning of your text.

It is also an international site - often times with previous vehicles I've seen many more entries with L/100km or imperial v US gallons as measurements.

I think they must sale data in bulk someway. I agree it's a labor of love and I'm not saying they are nefarious in any way, but maintaining a site at that scale is expensive. Particularly with the text message processing.

If anyone wants a local alternative, the Fuelio app for Android works well.

Got it. Thirty five to forty m.p.h. is when the ICE turns on under ideal conditions. Such as the HV battery has a good charge in it, the temperature is moderate, and a flat road. Interestingly, there have been times when it is EV traction motor only, and as high as fifty to fifty five m.p.h. but only for about a hundred yards or so.

More often than not the traction motor works in conjunction with the ICE and that, I think, is what gives such good m.p.g. I am amazed at how seamless the system is.

I am at 43 mpg average over 200 miles. I have the XLT version and unfortunately mine doesn't show the electric driven miles for the long term view, I only see it after each trip for the specific trip. Am I correct to assume that this information is only avilable on the Larijat trim?
If you cycle to the Trip 1/2 modes does it show EV miles for those?

No, I tried everything and the only time it would show EV miles is after each trip, when it gives the summary for the specific trip.

Does it keep any of the information in the Ford pass app "journeys"?

I don't need another app, I don't need any new messages or texts that make me look at my phone. I know people whose screen time is like 5+ hours a day. I think mine is under 5 minutes. Once I figure my mileage after say 3 to 5 fill ups I will pretty much know what I want to know and there won't be any more writing or tracking. Some people just need more. I need less that would be "great".
There's no need to use fuelly. I agree with the "less is more" mentality. The main purpose of fuelly is to get accurate numbers. If you don't want to be bothered, you could just do a simple calculation of how many miles driven divided by how many gallons it took to fill up. It just ensures that the trip computer is accurate.

Here is what I see in my display. First one is for the average for the period after I rest second one is after each trip. I tried everything to get the distance driven in E mode in the first screen but no chance.

I've only had my Hybrid for a day and only had three trips. Interesting in that all three were to the dealership. Yesterday taking the Maverick home.

Today to the dealership to sign one paper that was forgotten then back again.

Each time I didn't take 121 as that is a tollway and I don't have a tolltag for the Maverick yet. So I took the frontage roads of 121 then got on business 121.

So first trip from dealership to home: 24 mile trip and 43 MPG

Today from home to dealership: 24 mile trip and 41 MPG
and back home from dealership: 24 mile trip and 54 MPG

The last trip was in massive stop-and-go traffic at rush hour and 8 miles of the 24 were all electric. I also got better with regenerative braking as most reports were in the 96%-100% range. I still drove the truck like I do every vehicle I have owned. When the light turns green I accelerate to the speed limit quickly then coast.

Since most of my trips will be much shorter it will be some time before I will need to fill up but when I do I will use the paper method: Miles Driven / Gallons put in tank = MPG

😍 Wow just Wow 😍

We just got back from doing our first Christmas Light tour of the season in the Maverick Hybrid. Trip time was about 1 1/2 hours.

60.7 MPG
19.3 Miles
15.5 Miles all Electric

Lots of 15-30 MPH travel along with numerous stops.

One stop was 15 minutes for one of those synchronized displays with FM radio music broadcast.

It was great to just park the truck, turn on the parking brake, turn off the headlights and put on the parking lights while listing to the FM radio music broadcast with the climate control on auto. All on electric power for those 15 minutes.

Did one pedal to the medal to show the wife how quick and powerful the truck was. She was impressed.

Currently have driven about 90 miles and averaging 42.4 MPG
