It's a warning that you are exiting the vehicle without it being secured...

As I recall, it can do that if not in Park or without the eBrake.

Mine never honks if I don't use the parking brake. It will double honk if I leave the truck running and try and lock it using the lock button. I had to use the keypad.
Happen to me yesterday when I was at the dog park with Maya and my niece's dog Binx.
I am in the habit of the truck using the lock button on the door while it's open.

Could be, but I don't recall that scenario, and there may be more than one way.
IIRC, it did the double toot as I was opening the door, not yet in park, but I could be mistaken.
I'll have to try to make it do it...

You are exiting with the key in the truck. Either get the key or shut the door and lock it with the key pad or the second key fob. You can keep it in ready state with heat or cooling active and lock the truck and run an errand. Supposedly the drive mode selector will stay in park if someone enters without unlocking with the other key fob or the keypad.

I shut just the back door,
Key fobs in my pocket,
Panic horn starts up only to be turned off with the fob.

It thinks the fob is still in the cabin.
Still within 3 yrs/36k warranty?

And are you shutting door with finger on handle sensor requesting lock all function?

Open the door?

Are you perchance hitting the door handle area on back also, requesting an unlock all function after you've opened it and starting to close it?

Or are you pressing the lock-all button on inside of door - while the fob is still inside cabin?
Do you happen to hear all the locks change state?

Are any of the doors not completely shut (has to be shut more than just first latch maybe alarm doesn't validate door is actually lockable) or hood or not in park? Something not ready to lock truck. Maybe 2nd fob in truck? One honk verifies remote start can happen two means remote start cannot happen because electric lock fails test.

If I do a quick exit… engine off and open door in one quick move, I get the double beep.

When I stop at the mailbox, put truck in P, unbuckle seat belt, open door, get out to get mail if I close the door it double honks with fob in my pocket. If I leave door open with fob in pocket silence. I assumed (yes I know what that makes me, I won't infer it does the same to you ) it was to alert me that I left the vehicle running and exited the vehicle. It seems to be programmed that if the door remains open to think you are coming back.
