My insurance on my 22 Hybrid just went up $400/year!! I called my agent and they needed to look into it and call me back. She did say that the Maverick went up on the price to repair due to parts availability and the cost of repairs over all since it came out. Before anyone asks i have had the same insurance co since 1973, zero claims or tickets. it is now $2000/yr with a 20% return at renewal if no claims. Yes i know its apples to oranges but my 03 F150 was $800/yr the year i switched policy to Maverick, 2024.

The "Total $$" on a 15+ year old F150 significantly lowered it's premium. Also the initial MSRP was the basis.

That is insane. I pay less than $1k annually total for both my Maverick and my wife’s Odyssey.

In NY I am paying just under $800 a year (AARP Hartford) and that is high compared to my previous cars. I have a 2010 GT500 and 2024 C8 and together they are $1500 a year and worth 3-4 times the Maverick. Something is way out of wack with the Maverick insurance prices.

In NYS and my annual insurance is $1222 for full coverage....when renewal notice arrives in January, I will ask my agent to start shopping, but it is a combo policy with my homeowners so, we'll see how that goes. My agent is good to me but I will hold his feet to the fire to get a good rate.

With liability at 250/500K, and coll with 1K ded, comp 500, I pay under $500/yr for my 2023 buggy. I find that to be very reasonable. No increases the last 2 years. But I am retired and don't really drive that much.

You're in Ohio, and he's in Connecticut. I'm surprised that the different isn't more . . .

(at the moment, I'm telling myself that I'll help pay for the payments on the new home I'm buying that's worth more than twice this one by moving to a nice zip code from one where I have enough fingers to count the days since the last homicice within a mile of my house!)

Update, my renewal is in and rates seem to have dropped to "normal" for "not worthless, not excessively luxo or high performance, middling family truckster" of about 1200 a year, which is Canadian and sucks, but this whole area like that and driving a 15+ year old beater on liability only runs about 900 if you pick it carefully to be on the low end. So not bad now, not sure why it came in high at first... It might have been build up of admin fees for changes and forfeited month for effectively a cancelation and rewrite building up into the amount owed.

However, I think insurance likes to see 3 years of data and a lot on the road before they really stabilise rates and I think that just happened... along with improving repair part availability and the demographics of ownership becoming clear, so maybe it just dropped on a "this model" basis too.

I pay $900 per year total for my Maverick and wife's Odyssey. I always shop around and find the lowest rates.
