Hold on a minute. I just noticed that is a Lariat in the picture. Are you sure that’s not the price range on the Lariat? If so, that would be in line with American pricing and my entire reaction/rant above can be disregarded. Please clarify and, if so, I’ll delete the post above. Thanks!

Looks like someone needs to give a little lesson on abstinence to the Chevy Blazer and Subaru Baja

Just a matter of time but here is what I found out about it. Plus I just rid myself of a Chevy and have no plan to go back. My 2014 F150 STX had steering wheel controls for hand free calling, radio etc. 2023 Silverado custom? NOPE. It was a lustful purchase that I regretted 1 month later. Based purely on looks not need or anything else. Lesson learned. The Chevy with a turbo 4 used more gas than the 2014 Ford with a 5.0 V8.
" The Montana is currently sold in Latin America and is built on a different platform than vehicles sold in the US. To sell it in the US, Chevrolet would likely need to either build a factory in North America or heavily modify the existing model to meet US safety and emissions standards. "
I get it...just sold our 24' Chevy & purchased a 25' Maverick. Too many electrical problems with the Chevy. Loved the Chevy itself, but the screen not responding, radio quiting for no reason, ect was just too much!

Can’t see GM staying out of this market too much longer.
I can't see how Ford caught EVERYONE so flat footed, that 4 years later, there's still ZERO competition really. Also, with the 2025 refresh, they raised the bar, especially by finally adding 4WD with the hybrid. Just WOW 👌

They use a dollar sign for the peso?
Fun fact, the sign was actually invented for colonial Spain's Peso and inherited by the former Spanish colonies after independence, then afterwards it was adopted by the US for the dollar.

Yikes! I was assuming American pricing. That’s a HUGE difference. Right now, the exchange rate is .051 American Dollars for 1 Mexican Peso. That would make the STARTING price of the Maverick $37,685 USD. And it’s made in Mexico! That is ridiculous! That’s more than I paid for my 2024 Maverick Lariat EB AWD 4K.

I hate to bring up the dreaded “T” word, but something smells rotten in Denmark…err…Mexico. It almost makes the case for some type of equalization measures to be put in place… 😏

By the way, for comparison, the Chevy Montana would be $26,553.82 USD at the current exchange rate. For that, I guess the Chevy Trax of Chevy Trucks would be a solid option down there. Up here though, not so much. Especially if we see the type of price increase on the Montana (if it ever comes) that the Maverick is getting down there.
To be fair, for some dumbfounding reason, we don't get XL models. It's mid-specced XLTs and Lariats only, which is infuriating considering we looooove (and need 'cause the average Mexican earns very little in comparison to an American) our barebones base models.

We also don't get to custom build our Mavericks 😡

Yikes. And yet, the Ford Maverick EB has 250 hp. So by comparison, the Maverick has 120 more horsepower. Man, talk about underpowered! If Chevrolet eventually decides to bring it to our market, they definitely need to put a bigger engine in it. At least a 4-cylinder turbo within the 200 hp realm.
I had a 149HP 2007 HHR Panel, and it was fine power wise. It hit 114mph, which is more than the Maverick. Took my son to college in Cali with it loaded to the roof, and it went up Donner pass fine.

agreed or a Subaru Brat
The Subaru Baja maybe, but comparing it with the Brat is more like comparing a Model T to a Model A. Even Third World vehicles are now a long way from 1979.

That’s one of the biggest complaints I hear about newer GM is electrical problems. And lifters. And timing chains.

No one thought there was a market for a small truck like the Maverick, even Ford was skeptical but they took a chance.

The Maverick was an unexpected massive sales success. It was released in 2021 with a starting price of $20K. However, Ford was not at all expecting the Maverick to be the sales success it ended up being. CEO Jim Farley admitted as much in June 2023 and said:
" Unfortunately, we completely under-called the demand for Mavericks. So, I’m not confident even with the capacity increase that we’re going to have a lot of Mavericks available to everyone."

So when it was released it was priced aggressively because they expected it to be a low volume seller and the low price would help entice buyers. And when demand for the Maverick quickly far exceeded their expectations they raised the price fairly substantially every new model year.

the Maverick was very likely priced with very, very little profit for the first model year because Ford had low expectations on how this truck would sell and for good reason. They were entering a small truck market that hadn't existed in this country in well over a decade.

Also a new vehicle takes about 8 year from develpment to production so the if the competition is working on anything it will likely be a while until we see. And that's a big "if" since Toyota has stated they have no plans right now for a small truck like the Maverick in the U.S.

"We don't have anything planned," Toyota brand head Dave Christ said. "We're not announcing anything to the dealers. I won't even say 'yet' because that would suggest it's coming. But certainly, it's something we've looked at."
