Yikes. And yet, the Ford Maverick EB has 250 hp. So by comparison, the Maverick has 120 more horsepower. Man, talk about underpowered! If Chevrolet eventually decides to bring it to our market, they definitely need to put a bigger engine in it. At least a 4-cylinder turbo within the 200 hp realm.

A gutless wonder!

The Montana weighs 800-1,000 lbs less than the Maverick.

Really? It looks so big in the pictures. Guess not. Maybe that 130 hp is not so bad.
It is physically smaller, but they can also get away with less safety features in that part of the world.

Gee, only $517,900 for a base model.

Seeing how a Mexican Peso is worth about an American Nickel, that’s over $25,000 in American money. For that, you’d have to be LOCO not to buy the Maverick instead!

They use a dollar sign for the peso?

Yikes! I was assuming American pricing. That’s a HUGE difference. Right now, the exchange rate is .051 American Dollars for 1 Mexican Peso. That would make the STARTING price of the Maverick $37,685 USD. And it’s made in Mexico! That is ridiculous! That’s more than I paid for my 2024 Maverick Lariat EB AWD 4K.

I hate to bring up the dreaded “T” word, but something smells rotten in Denmark…err…Mexico. It almost makes the case for some type of equalization measures to be put in place… 😏

By the way, for comparison, the Chevy Montana would be $26,553.82 USD at the current exchange rate. For that, I guess the Chevy Trax of Chevy Trucks would be a solid option down there. Up here though, not so much. Especially if we see the type of price increase on the Montana (if it ever comes) that the Maverick is getting down there.

Hold on a minute. I just noticed that is a Lariat in the picture. Are you sure that’s not the price range on the Lariat? If so, that would be in line with American pricing and my entire reaction/rant above can be disregarded. Please clarify and, if so, I’ll delete the post above. Thanks!
