I once saw the same exhaust system on a Triumph Spitfire. Now all it needs is a train horn!
This is especially meaningful since our family, when I was growing up, owned two Triumph Spitfires, one convertible, one hardtop.I once saw the same exhaust system on a Triumph Spitfire.
On your train horn comment, back in the late 1950s, a guy had the 1949/1950/1951? Ford sedan. He installed a train headlamp in the round thing on his grille, along with his train horn. According to the story, he would go out into the desert highways at night, turn off his headlights, turn on the train light, and start blasting the horn. It was amazing how many oncoming vehicles would run off the road. There had to be a special place in heaven - or hell - for that guy.
Not quite the same, but I wear it with a badge of honor!I'm still looking for a way to put "Super Light Duty" on mine somewhere![]()
This was at an ABCD car show. I asked the owner if he had a Ferrari v-12 in it, and he said, "No. Just the 1147." (or whatever the first, smaller Spit engine was) I doubt if the engine even made enough heat to warm up those exhaust pipes, assuming that both were hooked up to the manifold in some way. This is especially meaningful since our family, when I was growing up, owned two Triumph Spitfires, one convertible, one hardtop.
Probably not. But man, those were fun cars to drive. I miss our English cars but man, what a PITA to work on.This was at an ABCD car show.
