I got one of these that I put in a couple weekends ago. I ran the wiring down from the footwell.

I like it, its a popular brand, it was easy to set up and use, good quality video, and the app is fine and doesn't make me want to chuck my phone into the ether.

Whatever one you get to replace it, makes sure you bench test it and get it all configured before you put it in the car to ease the frustration.

I have no technical ability especially in electronics. Therefore I stayed with a simple cigarette lighter style plugin no aggravation.
Perhaps that would have been a better option.

Same for me. And the wiring easily stuffed behind the headliner, down the pillar and under the dash.

And, what else would one use a cigarette lighter for? The last time I took a drag in my car was last century.

What made you buy this particular camera when there are more better known brands out there for less money??? I would return it especially with Amazon's liberal return policy. As for suggests...your do much better at a professional installation shop and less aggravating too!

I looked at that and don’t get it. Does it attach to the stock mirror? Are the cables hanging all over?

I removed the OEM installed rearview mirror and installed the WolfBox Dash Cam in its place verses using the enclosed straps and ran all the wiring behind the headliner and trim it’s a very clean installation no wires exposed - I grabbed the power for the main unit using the OBD II port (more photos available if you search WolfBox Dash Cam)

Now they are thinking the cable they sent me is bad. I'm going to try it and if it doesnt work it goes back. I don't want on that willl more tha likely lead to theft and a broken window. Maybe the mirror design would be good.

It seems that this install is causing some aggravation.
You mentioned in an earlier post that you didn't have technical abilities.

A driver for the Hyatt tried to ram us and the continued to try and force us off the road. My wife was driving and understandably shook. We need a camera now and have no technical ability. Please help by providing someone for us. We have no proof that this guy tried to harm us but don’t want to be on this situation again.

Perhaps you should save yourself the aggravation and have a professional installation done at Best Buy or another stereo electronics installation service.
Yes Best Buy will install a dash cam that you purchased elsewhere.

If the new cable does not work thats precisely what I'm going to do. I thought I'd save some money and take my wife out for a steak. I am usually good at these simple tech jobs. This time it's raising my BP.

Have it professionally installed once. You will have your Dash Cam for the life of the vehicle. You've admitted it's raised your blood pressure why aggravate yourself anymore?
That steak dinner will be gone within 24 hours. There will be plenty of opportunities to have another steak dinner

I didn’t need most of the wires there are a number of ways to install it since I used the OBD Port II I didn’t need the fuse taps and wiring associated with that
