I physically installed my “Lamax T6” dash cam last week from a previous vehicle. Fastened to windshield behind mirror and ran/snaked power wire as discussed by others in their posts. Although not connected to power, it was not interfering with any systems. Today I connected the positive lead with double fuse lead to #3 and ground to bolt as directed in other posts. The camera works great and turns on and off when ignition switch is on. HOWEVER - now dash warning shows in succession:
1) “Front camera fault service required”
2) “Pre-collision assist not available”
3) Icon in Orange Showing cars colliding
i unplugged the power cable from camera base to deactivate it, but error messages remain. As I said camera records fine. However the collision assist is more important and until I can figure it out, I will disconnect fuse and ground leads. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

is the camera blocking the view of the system?

Any chance you dislodged the power wire to the front camera when you hooked up the dash cam? No power to the sensor = fault?

Yeah I got a Gentex 8 on fuse 3, but it's only an autodimmer, no fru fru, and my pre collision is as hit or miss as day 1

Why? Many, many threads recommend and have successfully utilized it.
Obviously your camera is interfering with the collision avoidance circuit you tapped into. You’re using the correct resistor pack for the camera, right? Most cameras runoff of +5VDC which is stepped down from the +12v source. I prefer to use an empty fuse location and I tapped into #6 which is the sunroof I don’t have.

Good luck

I had a similar issue in an older vehicle. The camera wiring or something in the camera itself interfered with the camera/sensors on the windshield when powered on. Moving the dashcam over to the right completely resolved the issue.

If trying a different fuse doesn’t work, try moving the camera away from the sensors at the center of the windshield.

Also adding I use the same fuse as you and haven’t had any issues with my camera installed since day 1 months ago now.

Is the cameras wiring harness tapped into the trucks power and causing the issue (without the camera attached)? Sounds like feedback from the harness pack into the circuit. You can quickly just move the fuse jumper to #6 and see what happens

Maybe that the answer. The power added when connected may be what’s interfering withe cars camera or sensor.

I used #3 with my dash cam with no issue. The camera is located to the right of the in car camera case about 3 inches thou.
