OK, just got off the line with Ford - there is now a separate MAV help line that you get transferred to after waiting on the main line. They must be overwhelmed! They confirmed that I AM in the system, and I was told that I would not get a VIN until all the necessary components were available to schedule my build. I think this is different from the process that was in place earlier, where you placed your order and were immediately given a VIN, and you could then track yourself online. I think supply problems have forced them to change things. She said I would be contacted with an email when I get a VIN and my build can be scheduled. It’s hard to understand why the dealers can’t explain the situation in more detail. It would help us understand WHY things are what they are, instead of leaving us out here in the dark with some nebulous promise that someday our vehicle will just show up.

This time around I got Tim’s explanation of how Ford says dealers must submit a signed buyer’s order into the ROVP to have a legitimate order.
That's new to me. I think I've seen all the videos, but I never understood Tim as saying that a signed buyer's order was required to get into ROVP as a legitimate order.

A lot of the chat on here about getting a signed buyer's order relates to protecting yourself from a price increase when the truck is delivered, not to getting into ROVP.
I think this is different from the process that was in place earlier, where you placed your order and were immediately given a VIN, and you could then track yourself online.
I don't think that was ever the process. I haven't seen anyone on here claim to have a VIN before their build was scheduled. I think the process was that you got your VIN in the email that informed you of your build week.

Tim shows a chart which seems to be extracted from a letter issued to dealers and makes the specific point that ROVP acceptance requires a signed buyer’s order. I only have a preview sheet that shows my build and includes s hand-written note about the agreed OTD price, and yet I am in Ford’s system, so the signed buyer’s order must not be absolutely required. As to the order system, a couple months back it looked like a lot of people were getting a VIN right after they ordered and could then access Ford’s tracker. Maybe that hasn’t changed. It’s just that people aren’t getting VINs as quickly.

Most of those getting VINs quickly (in as little as under a week) were Ecoboost orders.

As part of the order process I was asked for my e-mail address. By the time I got home from the dealer I had received three e-mails. Two from the dealer and the order confirmation from FORD.

Are you trying to make this hurt? That points out how, just when you think you have things figured out…..you really haven’t. This attempted purchase is one of the most screwed-up experiences I have ever had!

You have misunderstood the use of the priority codes 10-19. They are ONLY used to prioritize orders within a given dealership.
If all orders at that dealer are going in as 19 (which is common) it has no affect on who gets scheduled first.

Finally, even if you have a lower code than someone else at that dealer they may still get scheduled before you if your build has items that are not readily available at the time of scheduling.

Hope this helps.
This is not true 10-19 are retail 80 like what they gave me at the dealer are stock orders that will not be filled until after the retails of filled.

Dealers are liars as they took my 500 my DL copy and still shafted me with a stock order. If it was not for the wonderful people here I would have not known this and as I walked back into the den of thieves to make them change it to 19. The Ford rep on the phone said the same thing. As 80 is stock order for the dealer lot.
Not going to rock the boat till I get my truck then I will let Ford know and Yelp for the crap they pulled on me.
Ford Direct when will that happen?

Ford told me the same thing even on the build code 80 my name was in the system but not as a retail order “your truck will be scheduled when the parts are available“. So even if they delivered that Truck it would have gone in dealer inventory first then markup then they would sell it to me. That is why they did not give me a copy of the order and sales sheet. Once I went back and held them accountable is when they updated to retail And gave me copy’s of the Order sheet.
This truck is very hot and in a frenzy. The pimps are chomping at the bit to cash in any opportunity given.

Can you tell me which video that is in? I don't remember seeing that, but he has a lot of videos and it would help me if you could point me in the right direction.

BTW, I'm very much in favor of getting a buyer's order signed by both parties anyway, for price protection purposes, so it sounds like you are doing the right thing by demanding one.

You may need to read what I said again. Seems like you are agreeing with what I said and then saying wrong. WTH

Not the OP but here are the video's queued for making sure a customer's order is entered and validated:

Video 1: Direct Order Flow Chart

Video 2: Step 3 at dealership to verify order so that Ford will consider the order valid for scheduling

Video 3: What documentation is needed

Signed Buyers Order or WBDO (DORA) signed by customer
and Copy of Drivers License

Tim's video stating going back to dealer and get a "Signed Buyers Order" to protect yourself from bad dealers who are marking up custom orders when they arrive:
