It has it on my crz hybrid. It worked well. It used the hybrid motor as the starter. It was more of a whoosh when it started. It Also had a regular starter for extreme cold. Think I heard it crank twice over the 9 years I owned it
Now on my wife's 2019 forrester I hate it. It has to take a toll on the starter and not as responsive as the crz.
I may be mistaken but I think the Mav also uses the hybrid motor to start the car. To me that's OK
On an eco like the one I ordered I am going to turn it off.

Well as stated, I exclaim loudly, so the caps are there for your benefit, as a visual indicator of my exclamation, so you can better understand how much I hate this 'feature'..

And, if you haven't experienced this feature, then I can understand why you may not yet hate it. Tho I know many people are fine with it... but for the way I drive, I expect the engine to remain running until I no longer want it running. I suppose 46 years of driving vehicles that remain running at all times might have something to do with it.
There was plenty of room in the subject line to say what you hate. Did you just get too mad to finish the sentence? Or was it so that random members like me will click on your thread even though we don't hate that?

To be fair, you aren't the only person who does this.

I drove my wife's car, with auto stop/start, on the expressway for an hour. I can now join the world of auto stop/start haters. To date, I haven't read a valid reason.
Well, I have a reason. I hit every red light and they were all very long. Every time I pulled away from one, I had to turn the radio volume back up.

I just turn it off every start. You have to look at the rotary gear selector anyways which is more annoying. Not sure how they claim vehicle remains cool when stopped. Even this time of year in Florida the interior heats quickly with sun beating down and AC is off.

I think the windshield has far less sun-blocking properties than is normal, so I'm gonna have the windshield tinted a bit to reduce glare, and that would have to help with heat build up too.

I find that I don't need to look at the rotary gear selector. You just grab it and spin it as much as you want to the right and you're in D. Then you grab it when parking and spin it as much as you want to the left and you're in P.

And it wouldn't be so bad turning off A/SS if I didn't forget about 25% of the time.

I plan to buy the $100 thingy before long and be done with it.

I've had this feature in a few cars. And it's become second nature that after starting the car. I turn it off before starting out. I hate it on my Subaru Forester because of its location to turn it off. Tucked low on the dashboard. Mixed in with a bunch of other switches. I like the location of it on the Bronco. Right at eye level under the main display. Too bad that isn't the case on the Maverick. Try giving it time. After a while I'm betting it'll be second nature about turning it off.

I guess the hybrid folks probably like it more than the EB crowd since is a fuel saving gadget. I understand the EB guys not wanting it. Here’s an idea to help remember to turn it off: put something like a sheet of paper or plastic on the drivers seat when you get out that you won’t miss when you get in the next time.

You are right. I forget to just spin it. And no need to use park. Shutting off truck does it for you.

Today makes 2 weeks since I picked up my Maverick and have about 1,000 miles on it now. It still exceeds my expectations, and I love spending time in it... but about half the time I put it in 'drive' and pull away, I forget to hit that pesky button with the 'circle A' on it, and when I do forget and I come to the first stop, and the lovely 2.0 Ecoboost engine shuts off, I first exclaim (out loud) "I HATE THAT!" and then I hit the pesky button to shut off auto start/stop.

I sure hope we figure out a way to turn it off permanently, without having to buy the $100 thingy. Please Ford, give us a way to shut this frustration off for good.
The Auto Stop/Start on the water dispenser on my refrigerator door does the same thing. You actually have to press the dispense button to get the water to flow. I know it must put wear on the pump...it just so annoying that the water doesn't just flow.

I didn't like it in my Alfa Romeo. I know I won't like the feature in this vehicle either! The part that aggravates me the most. Is not allowing the feature to be completely disabled! As long as I could turn it off once and forget about it. I would be fine with it in any vehicle.:ROFLMAO:

If I'm remembering what has been posted here and not wanting to look at the owner's manual, I think I'm going to have to get used to pushing the "eco mode" on my truck each time I get in as that is the setting I want. I can't understand why FORD didn't have that be the default.🤷‍♀️.

Also, my Escape is in Auto/Stop mode, but I hardly ever notice it. My music either drowns it out or the cold weather keeps it from engaging. Not sure, but when I go to check that it is on, it says it is.

To be fair, you aren't the only person who does this.
Maybe the OP anticipated that the feature is so polarizing, that he left it off the subject line intentionally? This way people who are easily triggered can avoid the entire thread by their own choosing.

So if a person chooses to read the thread and gets caught up in counter-hate, at least they can self-regulate: "Hmmm Why did I click into this hate thread anyway?"

Then again, maybe the forum police should spend more time on titles? Maybe there aren't any simple answers, but thank you for asking the questions.
