On the FX4 and non-FX4, registers 760-04-01 and 760-04-02 are identical.

But, if you compare 760-04-03 and assume the drive modes follow the same format as the F150 760-04-01, then you get the following:

NON FX4
06B:
Mode 6 / Mode 7 / Mode 9 / Mode 11 / Mode 12

FX4
1E1:
Mode 4 / Mode 5 / Mode 6 / Mode 7 / Mode 12

Just guessing here, but::

Eco 9?
Normal 6?
Sport 11?
Slippery 7?
Tow/Haul 12?
Sand 4?
Mud/Ruts 5?

So, tomorrow or Sunday I'll try the following tests and see what happens...if changing the modes is even possible, I'm not sure if we can have more than 5 at the same time:

Replace 5 (mud?) with 9 (eco?)
169

Replace 5 (mud?) with 11 (sport?)
163

Replace 4 (sand?) with 9 (eco?)
0E9

Replace 4 (sand?) with 11 (sport?)
0E3

FX4 Add 9 (eco?)
1E9

FX4 Add 11 (sport?)
1E3

Update: I tried to start by writing 06B to see if it would swap my drive modes to non-FX4. However, forscan does not seem to be able to write any data to the module. I just get kicked out of the data display and a "service proceedure has been interrupted" message in the log.

I was eager to help contribute to this effort but it looks like you might figure it out before mine even gets delivered! Great start so far, following.

Will it be possible to turn off the hyper flash warning for the LED lights with this? Want to switch all the lights to LED but don’t want to mess with resistors

I don't know much about ForScan, but I'm gonna say no based on my experience with German cars.

Will the use of ForeScan cause warranty issues?
Apparently messing with settings gets recorded in logs on the computer that you can not access. It would depend on your service manager but they will look for reasons not to cover things. Look at it from Ford's perspective - If you blow your engine and your computer is full of logs showing you messed with critical settings, why wouldn't they invalidate the warranty? This is why piggyback tunes are popular.

I was having the same issue, but was hoping the 25 Nov release would fix that. Guess not...

I've never understood this. The dealer is not ford, they are a franchise that gets paid by ford to do warranty work. If Ford has requirements that have to be met then sure I can see them needing to validate certain things before submitting the warranty claim, but why would they "look for reasons not to cover things" beyond that?

Because it's the dealer actually performing the work and they get paid by Ford to do so. I would guess these days they actually have to submit the logs with any warranty claims if they want to get paid. And the dealer isn't lifting a finger unless they are sure they are getting paid.

So, after some poking around on the forscan forums, some people are getting better results after updating their adapter firmware.

https://www.scantool.net/downloads/updates/obdlink_ex/

I just ran it with the most up to date, but couldn't see a way to determine what firmware was on there in the first place. Should be able to give this another try later today.

Well, tried with newest OBDLinkEX firmware 5.6.19, same result.

Tried downgrading Forscan to 2.3.43 but same result as 2.3.44.

Have also tried reinstalling OBDLink firmware.

I'll probably make a thread on the Forscan forums, but at this point I'm out of ideas. Can't really experiment if we can't write anything to the modules...

It's funny they seem to have plenty of storage space for logs, but not enough storage space to include Eco and Sport lines of code for FX4 owners, which must instead be removed in favor of two different modes.
Where did you read that there is a maximum of 5 drive modes?

No problem. It would be great if some others could give it a shot...that would determine if it's an issue with the maverick modules or if it's just something off on my PC/adapter.

I read it on the dash of my FX4 which "had" to drop two drive modes in favor of two other drive modes. I don't believe there is any technical reason for this. It is simply lines of code that seem to be arbitrarily removed and replaced by Ford. I see no reason there couldn't have just been extra drive modes added, which is what the original sales information indicated was the case. Just another bait and switch.
Well, the whole point of this thread is to solve that problem, so instead of whining about it to us why don't you try to help us solve the problem? The post above yours is asking if other people can attempt to write to the ABS module.
