Has anyone gone with a window tint for the front door windows that is a shade lighter than the back?

I cant hold myself back from getting the front door windows tinted but I dont think I want them as dark as the rear windows. If anyone has had them tinted a lighter shade than the back I would love to see how it looks. Thanks
I got mine tinted at the dealership. The front windows are lighter than the rear windows due to laws in Texas. The two rear side and back windows are DARK I also had a tinted strip done across the front window. Even in our current Texas heat the truck is cooler than otherwise due to the tinting. Now, I said "cooler" not cool! Glad I had it done.

I plan on doing the following, if I ever get my truck. It should stay nice and cool with little need to run the A/C.

Full windshield 56% Huper Optic i3 Ceramic or Air Ceramic 70%

Front 15% Huper Optic i3 Ceramic

Back windows and bed 56% Huper Optic i3 Ceramic (12.32% after putting on top of factory 22%)
No, you will still need to run the A/C. The tinting will not prevent heat, it will just not allow it to get as hot as it would without the tinting.

Thanks for the replies. You guys are really helping me make the right decision the first time. FUNCTION SPEC ....thank you.....that is exactly what I was looking for! Perfect pic and I like the light tint. Even with a light tint I would imagine it helps significantly to keep the UV off the driver on those blazing sun days....and certainly would keep the truck cooler.
No problem! I like a light tint as well and would have probably gone with 50% for a little more privacy but just enough visibility to see me wave when it's your turn at a 4-way stop sign. If you go with a light tint, go with ceramic for better heat rejection. You can get top-tier NANO-ceramic tint which is really expensive but most suffer from low angle haze and look slightly blue because of the higher density of ceramic particles. Whatever you choose, it definitely keeps the truck cool and the sun from burning your skin!

I've been hesitant to comment since I know there are a lot of fans of front tinted windows, but as a former runner and now walker, I don't like front tinted windows because I can't see if the driver sees me as I approach an intersection. It's a safety issue for runners/walkers and to a lesser extent when driving. With all of the distracted driving going on I like to know if the other driver knows what's going on around them.

Right, but when all your trips are 5 miles or less and you live in the mild PNW the need to crank the A/C will be significantly less frequent.

Valid concern, but if they are legally tinted then it's their property and they are able to do so. Personally, I tint well beyond the legal limit but I also live in rural Montana and any time there is a jogger - it's not where traffic is lol. It's really your responsibility to be safe and assume the worst. I've ran in spots the Army forced me to run, around traffic, and the best thing you can do is essentially stop running. Safety is the priority - not the cardio. Hell, even some people will look straight at you and still chose to ignore your presence - tint or no tint. So let's not turn this into an r/anticar thing ;)

No state allows windshield tint. Most only allow 35% on front windows. And yes cops do pull people over for dark tint and cite them. Had a friend bought a used car and didn't pay attention to the tint. Pulled over by trooper on way home from used car dealer, cited and given a defect. She wasn't happy with the dealer and made them take it off.

I know some cops will impound a car for excess tint and it can't be released until the tint is legal. But they can't get in too remove it so it sits.

No matter what you want, dark tint, ceramic or not, is dangerous at night in low light areas.

Usually there’s a legal limit to how dark the front windows can be depending on the state you live in. That will be the determining factor.

Ok everyone I appreciate the replies and the pics as well. I opted for the ceramic Pinnacle tint at 50% and I am very happy with my choice. I can see very well through the windows and they block half the heat and 99% UV which is a no brainer. Of course they look lighter or darker depending on the background but over all this is a light tint and legal in Virginia where I live. I will include a before after pic.

Kinda, but not really. Many people have illegal tint no matter what the state or local regs say. California some years ago changed to permit only very light tint on the front doors and almost no one follows it.

Worst case you get a fix it ticket if you're already getting a ticket for a moving violation. Probably not going to get a ticket for tint by itself.

Ya know I thought that too about California. Then I started looking around and actually counting. About 1 in 25 has illegal tinting.

Not rare by any means. And cops COULD have a field day. But this is a long way from "everyone's doing it". More like 4% are doing it.

My hunch is you won't get stopped FOR it alone. But be prepared to pay extra if you get stopped with it for some other reason.
