But, It has been, A Great Ford Ranger replacement.
I should know.. (had three of them).. ;)

All of the "Standard" Equipment, that is common today (and people take for granted).
Would have put my early Rangers into "Lariat" status..
ayup..
my XL feels like a luxury car to me.
it's a great Sport Trac replacement too, actually a major upgrade.
Couldn't be happier..

going to get the canoes out on it soon..

The only thing better than having the practicality of a truck combined with awesome MPG making it a perfect daily driver is also driving around thinking about how I paid next to nothing for it but still have everything I need and more.

Honestly, it makes me love the truck so much. I have a rather expensive EV as my other car and, while it is a better vehicle on many fronts, I don't get the same level of satisfaction.

If you ordered after Nov 2021 then no regrets on an XL. The time to upsell to an XLT or Lariat was 2021, so no regrets here. I got the last of the original deal with a 2700 private offer to wait for a '23. Since then I feel like XL delivers the most value. However, for drivers with more mature finances, the Lariat make a lot of sense.

Love my XL. I actually am not a fan of the XLT interior. Prefer the XL interior. So the nearly 3 grand upcharge for a set of wheels was n ot in my plans. I spent around $700 for a nice set of vision wheels. My 24 is an XL with copilot 360, a trailer hitch, floor liners, full size spare, and a drop in liner. $25,300, can't beat it. Getting mid-high 40's MPG. Only regret is they discontinued area 51 (my 23 order was for that color), so when my order rolled i went with cactus gray, which was my second choice. I have had vehicles with monnroofs and hardly ever used them. Waste of money for me. Only thing i wish i had was heated seats, living in W. PA. they would be nice. My Jeep Renegade has them so i use that in the winter accasionally

Given that it's pretty much an auto parts delivery truck?
Before I bought my 2024 Maverick XL Hybrid I bought a 2009 Ford Ranger XL that had been used as an O’Reilly Auto Parts delivery vehicle totaled from the IIAA auction in San Antonio, repaired it, got it inspected and retitled “salvage rebuilt”, that I still drive today.

I added the CoPilot 360, tow hitch and spray-in bedliner to my XL and there isn’t a damn thing on the higher trims that I need or want.

So, yeah, as they say, “keep it simple, stupid!” 😘

There are only three things I wish the XL 2025 hybrid model had:

1. Push button start
2. An arm rest in the backseat
3. A rear window defroster

Everything about the vehicle I absolutely love. It fits my needs perfectly, but the above items weren't worth the expense of upgrading. Incidentally, I live in Houston, but I flew to Salina, KS to buy my Ford from Long Island McArthur; they had the best prices anywhere in the country. I highly recommend them.

I have the Lariat, and I love the XLT wheels …..son has the XLT, so I can’t compare my Lariat to the XL. My truck was a retirement gift from my wife, and was a total surprise…she knew I liked the Maverick because I said I wanted a truck like my son’s. I used to own a Ranger (1995) and loved it despite all its faults. The Maverick reminds me of the Old Ranger with all the issues fixed (except off road 4x4 stuff - you will never get the Maverick 4x4 to compete with the Ranger set up off-road.
I love my XL I never thought I would have a chance to buy a Maverick because I started looking for them when they first came out. And of course they were either overpriced or not available at all. I know at the time the XL wasn't my only option I had the option to get a tremor but after looking at the options I wanted the XL fit me perfect. And after I've spent under $500 - not including my hitch and wiring course that was 700 by itself My XL has almost all the same options as an XLT because i did a lot of painted parts. So I would say as an XL hybrid FWD I think it's a great pickup.

I just picked up a 2025 xl eco boost , I didn’t have lobo money. But I’m coming from having a grand Cherokee it’s only been a few days but I wish it had power side view mirrors and power adjustable seats would been cool too. I also would have liked if it came with a moonroof and spray in bed liner. For the price it could have came with more options

Outside of these hallowed walls of MTC a Maverick is... Well "modest". Some like to use the word poors. It don't matter if it is a Lariat, Tremor, Lobo, XLT, or XL... No one outside of this forum knows your a baller! ROFL You made a very frugal and practical vehicle choice no matter the trim level you are driving.

I am waiting on my XL to be built. My application isn't parts delivery, but close, it will be used for farming work. If I don't need the SD/HD truck I will be in the Maverick. I have come to the conclusion all the bells, whistles, tech doesn't really amount to much for my specific needs. The XL actually has more bells and whistles than I need. The only option I wish I could get on the XL that you have to get a Lariat for is the 360 cameras. I am constantly pulling into timber, barns, outbuildings, and tight places where visibility all around is a big deal. In the end I didn't see it was worth spending up for the Lariat just for that feature, but it would have been nice to have on the work truck application as I intend to use it. So from my perspective the XL is pretty loaded up already.

I think the Maverick is a different kind of status symbol. At least to me it is. A manufacturer trying to produce something that is sorely needed in the marketplace at a price average people can afford. It isn't pretentious, it doesn't say hey look at me, it does say you are practical and probably gave this a lot of thought. I am glad to know you all... Even if you are a baller in a Lariat! ROFLMAO

I'm with you all the way, and I could buy 10 of these if I wanted to. I will NEVER own an expensive pile of rusting metal, I only spend big money on non-wasting assets, but I love the 2 acreage properties I have. I just took the new 25 Mav XL out for a real drive last weekend 160 miles RT highway and 30 miles RT on gravel washboard. The AWD was awesome, most stable ride I have owned, and I have owned many brusider 4 WD, including my current 2015 XT Pro4X. Oh, and it also got 40 mpg RT on this very typical New Mexico jaunt. These two vehicles will cover all my outdoor needs, leaving room for a 2013 Volvo C30 to be our sports mobile.

It’s a truck, nicer than our 1991 Comanche, so no regrets. Have take-off bronco sport wheels to put on for a little bling, but other than that it’s working.
