We all know the risks when going into something like this. My post was entirely informational for anyone considering this option.

Yeah I know the engine kind of looks barebones without the cover. But if Ford didn't include one in the purchase I'm not paying extra for it.

My 2019 explorer 3.5l limited is the same.

There are plenty of these out there, just not new. IMO, best place to call is LKQ (don't waste time trying to do online page), and buy from them. You can tell them it's the engine cover off a 2020 Ford Escape 2.0 or whatever and give them the part number. the guy looked it up instantly and that was that. When I bought one from them it was about $80 shipped IIRC. Other than being a little dusty it was perfect.

Honestly would call back and try again with a different person. The guy I talked to knew exactly what it was and it was easy. It was a year ago now, but I think they would still be stripping cars and cataloging parts the same way...?

Your looks great ptm'd blue as your truck. The grey bar with black grill just looks so plain and cheap. Apparently as Ford intended along with all black handles.

I already painted those though along with my mirror caps and tailgate handle and rear camera logo.

Thanks! Yours looks great as well! I’m not a white vehicle kind of guy but with everything paint matched you may be winning me over! I’ve thought about painting the door handles to match, but I’m also considering gloss black. It’ll match my BAP touches I’ve added to my FX4 truck. Stupid how you couldn’t have both packages! I added the lariat BAP lights and all 24’s with luxury packages came with gloss black mirror caps instead of body matched.

I ordered from the same vendor. The cover is currently in transit. I am wondering how your story ended? Were you able to remove the paint? Did you return the cover?
I actually found a Ford Ecoboost cover on eBay in October that I won by bid for $70. I knew I was lucky but didn't realize how lucky. I was buying this one as a back-up lol.
