It's a combination of two(2) things, the small low-quality battery....those Spanish T4 Enhanced Cells have no stamina, ability to fully recover from a discharge, and little reserve capacity to begin with. The second issue is Ford's BMS by default limits the SoC (State of Charge) to 80% to increase battery longevity.

I became tired of getting messages every time I had a really short drive, unlocked my truck more than once between drives to get/put something, or was too close for a period of time with the fob in my pocket (Lariat w/Proximity Key). It was simply cheaper to buy a better battery for ~$112 shipped, than the 2-3 hours to visit the dealership. Shoved a Type 47 (single port vent) AGM, and upped the charge to 90%. - The new battery actually stays above 90%, takes a charge MUCH faster, and has reserve capacity to spare, so the post-drive transmissions barely touch the voltage level...I still have the battery monitor connected. (Refreshing to see voltages at 12.8-12.9 volts and >90% SoC).

FWIW I installed a Weize Type 47/H5 AGM battery, which was bought on sale. It's a beast, a good 10lbs heavier than stock, albeit a bit larger. Just need to temporarily pull the housing for the install, and tap down the two bent up retaining tabs. The housing/plastic panels just pull/pop off & on.

I am just stunned reading the reply's, even if I got 200mpg not being able to trust my vehicle is not worth it. One should never never never have to leave a brand new vehicle on a battery tender.
If you do it's a pile of junk. Get something else.

So far I have had zero issues so I know its possible. Don't wait till you get stranded in the boonies with no cell service.

More info on this AGM battery would be much appreciated.

I did a google search on Weize Type 47/H5 AGM battery but got dozens of results all different. Price varied greatly too.

What modification was needed for it to fit?

Limiting to 80% charge level is terrible in my opinion. This shortens the life of the battery and makes driving in the winter time a pain for those of us who live where it is cold (forecast of -24 tonight). I wonder is anyone has been success to change the 80% to 90% or even 100%?

Are you sure the dome light comes on every time you open the door? If not, maybe it was in deep sleep and you didn't know because it couldn't tell you.
I don't have the interior lights turned on (interior lights are a convenience I don't use, because they mess with your night vision)

The point is, with the FordPass app deleted from your phone, you may not know your Maverick is in Deep Sleep Mode.

Yeah me too I’m reading these comments . I’ll get my truck in a few days and here I’m I’m looking up this new battery that’s advertised AGM battery that you talked about this is crazy. Why am I having to think about a battery the concerned ,worry about reliability trust in the truck ,already tire of deep sleep ,non starts, low voltage ,junk batteries , I guess I’m overthinking it being carried along, just hope the best she would happens all of general warranty

Who cares, it's only in deep sleep mode because the App says so? I haven't had an issue with the truck since I deleted the Fu*#!¥g app! The TPS still works, the truck runs great, without Furd Pass. It's just another worthless thing to keep you coming back to the Stealership.

OK I see I understand now , so this is part of that app thing so ,if I don’t use the app at all and I won’t have it talking to the truck. somebody on here indicated that , that’s what’s draining the battery , communication back-and-forth. What have you , thank you
The truck sensing the key fob getting near the truck isn't part of the app. It is just a proximity sensor situation. It will always do that, app or no app. Kind of like RFID cards, etc. The communication back and forth may be more when you're using the app, but the truck is still communicating with the Ford mothership periodically either way. The fuse 11 I mentioned earlier is for the telematics unit only, so pulling that fuse simply disables the that from happening. I haven't pulled it on mine, because I haven't had any issues, and I drive a lot. I'm at 22K miles in only 5 and half months, so much truck gets plenty of time to get a charge on my battery I guess.

Hey the ford app is no big deal.BUT no dome lights ARE. If you have NOT lost your dome lights yet then I guess your good to go. I took my mav for a longer ride today and have dome lights again. BUT should I really NEED to. NO . I only had mine since August 2023. Its clear its a real problem. I keep seeing a few more say no issues, then look FL warm climate people. lol. Plus short trips since winter hit the past few weeks . 4000 miles on mine since Mid August

What is meant by putting the keys down when you walk in the door ,
is there something about not having them in your pocket that helps?
please and farm
The implication is that if fob is in his pocket coins or something may accidentally press one or more of the buttons. He is putting fob where buttons cannot accidentally be pushed.. I have a friend who would have to hide the fob from his wife because she would be playing it like a keyboard.

Does anyone else's hybrid sit outside during this winter that lives in mn/wi/mi? How have yours been? It's really beginning to look like only a matter of time until the issues start...
