My kids are on spring break so decided to take them to Howe Caverns yesterday. It’s a 2 hour drive. Got to within 15 minutes of my destination and just passed the 1000 mile mark on my truck when the tire pressure warning came on and I see the right rear pressure going down rapidly. Thought maybe it was just a sensor fault so slowed down to 60 and thought maybe I could make it. Started hearing some odd sounds so pulled over and sure enough the tire was dead flat… My plan is now to replace all 4 with Firestone Destination A/T2 in 235/65r17. My question is will going with those tires void any warranty? I will be having Ford install them.

Ford will not do anything that would void the warranty.

My kid has just been playing video games on spring break! To be fair, so have I.

Nice way to get the kids involved.

Did you show them that even with both of em on the end of the wrench they couldn't torque it enough?

Also - 25MY has full sized spare, or that's still off by a bit?

Hope they still had fun. Son and I like hitting the caves during summer heat.

Still off. It's a 215 60. At least it's not a typical donut. If it was a normal donut driving 160 miles back home on the highway would not of been fun.. The hardest part was getting the spare tire out from under the truck.

When I replaced the Maverick 18" BAP Alloys with Bronco Sport 18" Machined Alloys
and the Pirelli Scorpion A3 Plus 245/60 R18 replaced the stock Michelin Primacies 225/60 R18 tires, my dealership called that a Modification that could void warranty work.

I asked the service manager if they were going to record in the service history that I had 'modified' my Maverick with stock items from it's Bronco Sport platform mate... They said No.

They also would not change the tire size, even to FX4/Tremor stock size of 235/65 R17 (which would have given me a truer speedometer / odometer reading). Said that would qualify as a Modification that could void warranty work.

That sucks. I will see what my dealership says. I want 235/65 R17s... Not like I'm changing rims, just going from 225 to 235. Also the Firestone Destination A/T2 tires at 235 are only 4lbs more than the stock tires.

what the heck is that embedded in the tread? it looks like a sharp piece of rock wedged in? it did major damage, wow.

For 2025 Ford changed the language on the website to say "conventional spare tire." :D

Looks like a metal bar or blade. Sliced that tire right up.

yep. I've been fortunate enough to only have a handful of flats over the years and most of those were just boring roofing nails or deck screws, and never had anything seriously cut like that!

Hmmm ? It's been quite some time but I think I remember a 24 month OEM tire road Hazzard warranty in fine print.

I thought Ford's New Vehicle Limited Warranty includes coverage for defects in the original tires supplied by the manufacturer, but it doesn't cover normal wear and tear.

Maybe the 2 year road hazard was on Ford installed replacement tires.?
