As a west coaster...yes the EV purple hair skinny jean cubicle keyboard punchers are swooping up the EV and 700sf apartments for 2500 a month. Been living here since/born in 74. My wheels are pointed right and can't wait to leave the dust on the tents. Money is good here but now as the family is grown up more...time to be around my kind of folks.(y)

I love the youtubers that constantly push the EV revolution. They somehow fail to talk about the high purchase cost, poor EV charging infrastructure or the inconvenience of waiting in line for a long charge cycle. Or the range anxiety. It gets even more interesting when they try to convince you the cost of ownership is so much lower on an EV. At their current prices you will never see a return on investment or any real cost savings. They also fail to mention the environmental impact on the building and recycling of the batteries or the fact that the raw materials are all sourced from foreign countries.

Tesla just stopped making cars and are shutting down production of their trucks. Daewoo is making a comback full electric cars at 16k 2 seater. Hummer is making a full electric truck 2 door long bed on heated 35s for all weather travel, with a bose sound system and extra bass booster. Underside has easy access ports for easy oil change access. Tow package of 8k lbs. AWD with disconnect button for flat towing. 25 color options and new age ceramic paint. 1/4" anti chip glass. Sharkskin strength interior material. Seen the advertisement on TicTok
yep, OP takes an opinion piece on a "news" source and takes it as fact. That source has a known tilt and agenda like most of them do. It's a failure to believe any one of them without engaging your bullshit filter. If that source was reliable we'd be two years into a massive recession.

Back in my military days, we would label certain people "shit stirrers". They're the type that walk into a quiet room and stir up the metaphorical shit until everyone was covered in it. This thread makes me think back to the shit stirrers.

@K5Blazer must be pretty embarrassed about this "news" source. They didn't post a link in the OP and after repeated attempts by members asking for one none have been provided.

IMHO this is a troll post by the OP. Controversial thread title? Check! No facts just an opinion meant to stir up the community? Check! Out right refusal to provide any information besides opinion? Check!

Yeah this is a troll thread.

And shut down future EV plans for good.

Ford, and everybody else, is right behind them.

Nobody is buying these things anymore.

Toyota was one of the few manufacturers to be honest with themselves, and the public, about the future of EV’s, when they announced no plans to replace ICE/hybrids with EV’s.

An EV Maverick?
NEVER GONNA HAPPEN
Man, I so envy your confidence in things that you don't seem to understand very well. Your "NEVER GONNA HAPPEN" is like me yelling at the top of my voice "Jennifer Aniston is NEVER going to be my girlfriend!" And I believe you.

Lately I've heard 15-18 minutes to 80% on Tesla and Hyundai newest models. So 4 hours of driving and a 15 minute stop, very similar to ICE.
It is at that charging time, but the cost of the charge can also be very similar to ICE, if you compare to long distance driving.

As for the OP point...

There are different type of of batteries coming on the market, the lithium-ion batteries might be replaced with cheaper alternatives that do not need rare Earth element. Hitting the brakes for building battery plants and EV not really a shutdown, it's more of reevaluating the upcoming technologies and make a decision on the direction. A 620 miles battery range would be nice in any vehicle, it may come as early as the end of the next year.

Volkswagen will probably be the first one to have it in their EV vehicles...

Someone probably gets their news from Fox News too.
Yeah, like all the others tell the truth and concentrate on making sure the viewers gets the proper facts with no hidden agenda. Uh, huh. :ROFLMAO: They all lie, some just like to pick and choose the lies they like.

NEVER GONNA HAPPEN
From todays Autoline Daily (a long respected industry report):

>>
TOYOTA BOOSTS EV BATTERY PRODUCTION
Toyota is significantly boosting its investment in EV battery production in the U.S. The automaker is investing an additional $8 billion to build more batteries at a new factory it’s building in North Carolina. That brings the total investment to $13.9 billion, which will create 5,000 new jobs. Toyota is adding an additional eight BEV and PHEV battery production lines to the two that were previously announced. Production is expected to start in 2025 and it will eventually build up to a capacity of 30GWh a year by 2030.

Clearly you were falsely programmed by your cable infotainment channel. You should switch it off and get out more often.
