This is a question about front wheel drive ECOBoost, not Hybrid or 4WD. Is Sport really faster/quicker? Does ECO really give better MPG?

I never drive in Eco mode. I tried it on the highway once. Sport is quicker off a stop over normal mode. Seems each mode alters the RPM speed. Makes sense. In Sport mode it runs at a higher RPM which helps the turbo boost come on quicker while Eco mode RPM's on the highway are about 200 RPM's less than normal mode.

It manipulates the transmission programming so yes and yes.

Eco mode feels like your grandmother driving the old hooptie.

Sport mode feels like you're 21 again, reckless and unapologetic.

Now add a racechip in to the equation, and its all smiles in sport mode.

Both modes will adjust the gear speed ranges. Sport mode will keep lower gears longer and will downshift quicker and so it drinks fuel. Eco does pretty much the opposite, so it has a lot less "get up and go" compared to even Normal mode but has better fuel economy.

I’m only 55 but I still drive like an old man. Unless I’m in my 50 year old Vette that is far from stock! If I put in a chip, will it still get the same mileage in ECO mode? What chip is recommended that is a simple plug and play? I’ve never modified a modern car, just old ones.
