A pick up truck based on the upcoming Corolla Cross Hybrid would be interesting since it's estimated to have around 190-200 horsepower. Now that I've had a chance to test drive the Tacoma on numerous occasions, I have this to say about it: If Toyota is going to bring us a future mini-truck, the interior (in terms of seating position) needs to be similar to that of the Maverick. The seating position of the Tacoma is what killed all the joy for me. Felt like I was riding with my knees up to my chin, and the 4 cylinder at 159hp needs some ass behind it like the Maverick (loving my EcoBoost at 250hp. It's been a nice change.) Considered the new Corolla Cross but feared the slow engine, and with lack of availability couldn't test drive. Starting to see a few Crosses on the road now, and while the ride height seems similar to that of the Maverick, it already looks "old" for being a 2022 model. Not digging the body style which is trying too hard to emulate the RAV4.
