Toyota and Subaru bringing a compact truck?

This is my first Ford but nothing has wowed me vs. my old Subaru. I would avoid a Subaru truck with a CVT but if they took the Rav4 Hybrid powertrain and put it in a truck unibody that would be a strong competitor to the Maverick. Most likely closer to the Santa Cruz but that would be fine.

I went with the Maverick over the Santa Cruz because it didn't seem very good at doing truck things and reliabilty is a concern for all gas powered Hyundai's. I did prefer the ammenties and styling of the santa cruz though.

Heck they could take a 20 year old tacoma and mesh it into a Rav4 body and it would sell like crazy.

A Toyota/Subaru collaboration will have a boxer engine. The drivetrain from the GR86/BRZ would be perfect.

I wouldn't think so, the RAV4 is the number 1 selling car and I don't think any of the boxers put out enough torque to do truck things. Although Subaru is implementing hybrids across their line now.

Junk but I'll bet they're easy to work on and modify. I had a few Fiats in my early days. They needed some work to keep going but we're fun to drive when all the American cars were big boats.
