I like an idea of Fumoto drain valve or any other valve IF I don't have to go under a truck and remove the filter. if you go under a truck and unscrewing ~ 15 screws to remove plastic cover in order to access the filter why not to unscrew one more oil drain plug? "preferable with magnet " Perhaps there is an option to change an oil and oil filter without removing plastic cover? if there is such an option to change an oil filter and oil on Mav. Hybrid i am buying this idea. Please advise.
I like to change my oil very often every 4-5k. if there is a way to make it easier I am all for it! I also monitoring my oil live via home automation and i am getting reminder once oil is at 50% life remaining. Oil change is not that pleasant work - but i like do quick underneath inspection and spray with fluid film underneath to prevent corrosion.

I generally agree. But with the fx4 the only two options is take the whole skid plate which would be a pain, or remove the PTU vent cover with leave a very small area to work and will leak oil onto the top of the skid plate. The valve will make the second option easier and much neater.

yes. I actually called Amsoil support to ask advise on oil bypass system for single reason: i want to be able to change oil without going under a truck. I was ready to pay $400 for bypass system but they don't have any option for ford maverick. I found this strange. Perhaps i should open new thread and ask forum users for advise on oil bypass system !?

Thanks for your information and photos concerning the Fumoto drain valve part numbers including the extension needed. Just ordered from the manufacturer website which recommended the same product numbers. Our Maverick looks just like yours, thanks again!
They make a Fumoto drain plug that rotates with an o ring kind of like a brake banjo bolt through the middle , do you think that one will fit on without the extension? The whole thing won't have to rotate when mounting because it spins on the banjo bolt.

I have not installed my valve yet so cannot comment on the installation. You can contact the manufacturer to ask if this type of valve would work. I simply relied upon the manufacturer recommended valve type when I purchased. Good question though.

That is the ValvoMax Quick Twist. Cost twice as much as the Fumoto or EZ oil valve, but wonder if it is a better fit?

This valve does not fit. This is the first one I got. That is why I used the one I updated my first post with. It fits with the FX4 skid plate. The plastic cover takes some skill to take off and put on, but fits.

Used the Fumoto valves on three different vehicles and just got mine for the Maverick earlier this week. Debated whether or not to get one for the Mav since it only requires 1 yr/10k OCIs, but since I plan to keep this truck for as long as it runs, I went ahead and got one because it makes things easy.

Just did my first oil change since I installed it two months ago. My first FUMOTO drain plug and man, it's the way to go. Makes it so easy and less messy. No splashing with the hose. Still messy dropping the filter though.

Anyway, I was trying to remember what size socket I need for the drain plug. Then I realized, holy crap!!! I don't need that anymore! This is literally the only tool I need now.

I haven’t gotten my maverick yet but all my vehicle oil changes I slip a quart sized zip lock bag over the oil filter while removing It. It catches 99% of the overflow. Then you can seal the bag for cleaner disposal of the filter.

That's a great idea. I saw guy on yt using a disposable cup. I started doing that so now my oil changes are almost no mess.

Did you need to have an adapter or extension on the ValvoMax? The Fumoto requires a 1/2 inch adapter to extend because of the indention/recess in the oil pan. Or were you able to get a socket around it to install? I like this style for the added protection of the cap... Some ball valves can develop a leak and have a drip.

I did my first oil change with the Fumoto and it was just as easy as it is supposed to be, the oil drains a touch slower but so what. With the way the drain is now oriented to the back I could use a hose and not take off the air dam, I just need to figure a out clean way to do the filter without leaking oil all over the dam.

Is this also valid for the 2025 hybrid?

which valve did you end up buying? I have a 23 hybrid and I assume the oil pan and shield are the same as your 22 but maybe not??? I just want to avoid having to make an emergency trip to find the right washer for the drain plug on the day that I install this thing.
