No. I ordered lux, but not copilotAnd the LUX package requires Copilot, so if you got a Hybrid LUX then you have a full spare. It's one reason I went with it.
I like eating donuts. I don't like riding on them.

I'm pretty sure there is not a package that upgrades the spare to full size. I think the FX4 reads like it does this, but it does not. The Hybrid receives a full size spare IIRC by default, but not the 2.0 (why the engine is the determining factor...maybe has to do with how the hybrid uses braking to regenerate the battery?).It is a dooughnut on the xl and xlt unless your package upgrades it or you select it as an option
The Hybrid does NOT receive a full size spare by default. See the snapshot for the ordering guide, it is Optional for ALL models:I'm pretty sure there is not a package that upgrades the spare to full size. Anyway, I confirmed this with Granger and had the FS spare added for the hundred bucks - worth it even if it is on a steelie. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't even a tire match to the FX4, but only matched by size.
..I am sure you will, but everyone needs reminding occasionally to check your spare especially if it is one of those 50-75 mile donuts. I have tried to help more people with dry rotted donuts over the years than I want to count.
They forget about them as they are not in rotation
My bad. Lariat LUX requires Copilot but not XLT LUX. I downgraded trims on my order, kept Copilot, and forgot which is which. @SgtLip updated the thread too.No. I ordered lux, but not copilot
No it will not. Broncos will but Maverick will have a steel wheel under the bed. So 4 wheel rotation. Please forgive my ignorance again. I ordered the full size spare with my Mav. Will that come with the same wheel? This feels like a dumb question, but you never know!
Ford has made this confusing b/c both the trim sheet and model guides have this terrible English when describing the Copilot package:If you order the Lariat Luxury Pkg, you have to have Co-Pilot 360 Pkg which provides the full size tire on a steely.
It does not help when English is such an imprecise language. My field of philosophy is analytic philosophy, one of its uses is to break down language into mathematical propositions and then analyze the formal arguments. So, yes I agree wholeheartedly in both the imprecise nature of the Ford produced descriptions and with the language issue.Ford has made this confusing b/c both the trim sheet and model guides have this terrible English when describing the Copilot package:
"Full-size spare (standard on hybrid)".
Why parenthesis? Why "standard" when talking about a package when there's also a separate full-size spare option?
I used to be consulted by tech writers in my line of work. Some are great with English. Others ... aren't. This (ab)use of English doesn't clarify.
Its the same steel wheel that come on the XL trim model. Please forgive my ignorance again. I ordered the full size spare with my Mav. Will that come with the same wheel? This feels like a dumb question, but you never know!
fix a flat is expensive because of the tyre pressure sensor if you have one installed. I’d rather see you carry a portable air pump and patch kit with a soapy water spray bottle/awl/plug which would cost the same if you ever had to use it.My package selections switched me to a full size tire. I’d actually had rather have the donut due to the hassle to remove and reinstall a full size tire…10 yrs in a Ranger and never a flat. But did have to take out the full-size tire and it is not fun, donut spare is about half the weight. No matter which tire you get you have to replace the spare when you have a flat. I ended up gambling with a can of “Fix-a-Flat” and removed the spare.
My Porsche Cayman S came with no spare but with fix-a-flat type chemical …all 4 tires have pressure sensors so I FIGURE PORSCHE FACTORY AND THEIR OWNERS MANUAL KNOWS WHAT TO RECOMMEND. Fix-a-flat is intended as a temporary/emergency fix, just like a donut tire.fix a flat is expensive because of the tyre pressure sensor if you have one installed. if you have no pressure sensors then DWYW.
as previously stated, I carry a speed/floor jack and electric impact wrench and will buy a full sized same rim from an “auto salvage” in a year or so so I can do 5 tyre rotation
Fix-a-flat the name brand claims to not damage sensors, but they will need removal and servicing. That is the specific name brand. Other brands make no such guarantees. YMMV.My Porsche Cayman S came with no spare but with fix-a-flat type chemical …all 4 tires have pressure sensors so I FIGURE PORSCHE FACTORY AND THEIR OWNERS MANUAL KNOWS WHAT TO RECOMMEND. There are dozens of Sport Cars today that have no spare tire…but a can of fix-a-flat and mini-air pump. People on motorcycles have used them for years, with tire pressure sensors.
You don't need a full spare ... until you need a full spareso I will stick with a full spare, on an identical rim, with 5 wheel rotation.
One night I hit something on I20 about 3AM. I managed to get to a rest stop and call the local tow truck. I had lost multiple tyres and had the kind of oh my got a Rottweiler could make it through there holes in 2 tyres. You don't need a full spare ... until you need a full spare
I've not had a flat in many, many years but of course it would happen when I'm hauling/towing something several hours away from AAA dispatch.
Having said all that, my Chevy Volt has a OE fix-a-flat from GM, but no owner actually recommends using it despite GM giving it to us. It goops up the tire sensors.
