Is the Wheel for the "full sized" (not really full sized) spare the same as the XL steel wheel? Will a true full sized tire (225/65/17) fit on it? Thanks!

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. If I decide to go with a set of all-terrain type tires like 235/65/R17s I'd like to know if I can just slap on a fifth tire on the existing "full size" spare black wheel or if I need to get a new wheel for that for a true matching full-size spare.

The wheel for the full-sized spare in most cars is usually a smaller steel wheel than the ones that come with the car. It is designed to fit in the spare tire compartment while taking up less space. As for the XL steel wheel, it depends on the specific model and year of the car. In general, a true full-sized tire (225/65/17) will not fit on the spare wheel designed for a smaller tire. It's always best to refer to the owner's manual or consult with a professional mechanic to ensure proper fitment.drift boss
