This is a smart way to do it...which I absolutely hate. This shouldn't even be allowed or legal. It fucks everyone up, it hurts allocations and the small dealerships, and is the reason why my June 10th order hasn't been scheduled yet and was rolled over to a 2023.

Also, I actually wish Ford ONLY took high value NON REFUNDABLE deposits of at least $3000 or more. That way, people would stop making multiple orders and Ford could actually prioritize and know exactly how many trucks they need to make for orders. I never made a deposit so Ford or my dealership has no reason to give a shit about me.

I want them to have a reason.
I get it. I didn’t do this when ordering my Maverick. I ordered from Chapman because of the 4% under invoice and courtesy drop option and I live in central Florida.

When making a reservation on the Ford website my local dealer went ahead an ordered my exact truck from my reservation without my approval. He couldn’t tell me the OTD price so I told him to cancel it. Pretty sure he kept it in the system for a stock order.

Almost no one knew anything about the allocation system but with what we know now and the way Ford’s system works why not? Do what’s best for you.

Partially true.

Also mixed into the arcane formula are:

1) What trim/what engine a particular dealer has on order.
2) Which options are or aren't included on each of the delaer's orders.
3) Whether any of those options are constrained, and by how much.
5) What region of North America (as defined by Ford) that dealer is located.
6) How many chickens have been sacrificed to appease the auto gods.

(Okay, maybe not #6.)

Eventually dealers with huge numbers of orders and corresponding allocations will reach or approach zero outstanding. That doesn't mean the production line will decelerate.
I will be willing to chip in on a fund for these chicken sacrifice's ( 7/10 order)

My understanding is that if you have an FE on order, you WILL receive it before the cutover to MY23's. It's a MY22 only option.

They aren't treating their good customers good at all!
Building later orders before ours. We should be compensated!!

for those of us that didn't catch it, can you summarize his explanation? Thanks.
I'm terrible at typing stuff. Go To 29.00 on the feed below

He just explained it better for me when he spoke, than what I was trying to understand when I would read about it in MTC.

I was notified Jan 28th by my local manager. He made a lot of calls that day because he wasn't getting anymore 2022 hybrid orders for the rest of this year.
* * *
I have called Ford Customer Service ... Last time I called was 2 weeks ago. Was told my order is good to go since June 10th and I'm still in the queue.
There's a basic contradiction here that's hard to figure out. Your dealer is telling you your order was rolled over, but Ford Customer Service is telling you it is still in the queue.

You seem confident that your order was rolled over at the end of January. Any thoughts on why Ford would tell you it was an active order in the system a month later? Sounds odd...

My dealer needed my driver's license and a signed form before he could lodge my order with Ford. (That way Ford knows who the customer is and has a signed paper showing what should be on the truck.)

Was your dealer able to make your order without getting those? That sounds pretty sneaky.

When I placed my order I had to show my drivers licence to prove I was a real customer. What would stop them from just making a buch of reservations themselves? I ordered in Dec so maybe Ford got wise to what some of these dealers were doing.

So I've been here on the MTC, watching Tim, you tube, etc. and I understand that Ford will build our 2022 Trucks. If for some reason they can't they will be moved to 2023. The problem I have with this scenario is as follows.

If my dealer has 120 orders ahead of me (just using that as an example, I have no idea how many are actually ahead of me), and say they get 5 allocations a month. I won't get my vehicle for years. What am I not understanding? Maybe @fordvideoguy can explain for me.

This is my first ever ordered vehicle. I've always bought on the lot, and usually used cars.
Another hypothetical from a granger Ford bargain hunter ;)

Yes, Lariat Hybrid ordered 7/26/21, Rapid Red, Lux Pkg, 360 CoPilot & First Edition. I'm ready for my build date. Maybe this week Thursday???
Same as my 7/12 order

Don't see a contradiction there at all. It's a hybrid order. There's probably dealerships who were more chummy with their regional scheduler who frontloaded hybrid allocations just as there were dealerships who didn't receive a single one in 21'.

His dealer told him his order was rolled over to MY 2023.

Ford Customer Service told him his order was still good and in the queue for MY 2022.

I forgot to ask my dealer about their relationship with the regional scheduler when I ordered, my bad.
