There's usually only 1 character in the hex codes that changes to adjust the actual settings, the rest of those characters are variable based on the VIN, like an encryption key. Every model year, every trim package could have some variables with different codes, but the VIN is the biggest factor with what you mentioned, so your values will always be different from other trucks, you just need to know which position in the hex number has to change, which can be different for each setting.

Until there's enough people willing to share the full as-built data for various builds, and their VIN numbers to match, we don't stand much chance at fully mapping the hex codes. I've offered before to take a stab at this, but no takers so far on sharing those details.

Consider this an open invite to all who read it, PM me the details if you want to contribute.

Here's a template:

Year:
Model:
Engine:
Drive Type:
Optional Packages:
VIN Number:

Then attach the full list of As-Built data codes, copied or downloaded from the motorcraft service website.
Sent you the data but this site wouldn't allow me to attach the downloaded hex file because of the .ab type. So I sent a word doc instead. If you know a work around let me know.

That is the correct address for changing the animation. When I change the 3rd hex number from a 0 to a 1 it switches to Ford in the Animation setting in the ACM easy settings. When I change the 1 to a 0 it switches the animation setting in the ACM easy section to Unconfirmed. Either way, the Ford logo still appears on the screen. When I change the 3rd hex number to a 2 I get a notice that the check sum for the number I entered is incorrect but I can proceed anyway. When I do, the write procedure aborts saying I have the wrong set up. Wish I could access the APIM. Even the spreadsheet doesn't have an APIM sheet.

It is interesting that the hex settings I downloaded from https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt for my VIN don't list any settings past 727-04-08. Although, I am able to change higher settings than those listed at 727-04-08 in Forscan.
Could you send a picture of the error you are receiving when trying to write the code? Forscan should correct the checksum but sometimes it doesn’t for some reason, I’ve seen where people have to manually correct checksums sometimes. It’s odd when I change the setting, I do not receive a checksum error. Also I believe the only reason you have an APIM is because your maverick has SYNC. Mine doesn’t have SYNC and I don’t have an APIM. My exact coding for the full line of 727-08-01 BEFORE coding to the ST animation is this.
1112-0502-0263

AFTER the ST ANIMATION
1122-0502-0273

I apologize I thought only one number changes but actually two numbers change. XX*X-XXXX-XX*X
+1 to both of the numbers that are in those slots.

Also my 2024 Maverick has an RCM (restraint control module) which it seems none of the 2022-2023 have at all. In the 2022-2023 this module seems to be absent and the settings or codings are stored in another module.

None of my hex numbers at 727-08-01 match yours. Here's the failure info.

Everyone should check out this spreadsheet. Looks like someone has already began logging there hex codes and the available changes in each module for a 2023 maverick.

Which OBDII adapter are you using? I encountered issues like this in my old Focus when I was doing a Sync 3 upgrade. I had to test multiple adapters until I found one that worked completely and wrote successfully. Just a thought.

I have two more, I'll try them. Although I can't use your settings since all of my hex code at 727-08-01 is completely different. As I said before my downloaded hex codes based on my VIN end at 727-04-04 even though Forscan has several hex codes after that.

Ok I think I understand a bit more. I also have a 2024 XL and my ACM pretty much matches EONR24. From my understanding, the ACM handles the screen information for cars without Sync 3. Since you have a lariat with Sync, you do need to find and change this setting on the APIM instead. But you said you can't see the APIM in Forscan, which is strange. So it could be the OBDII adapter or you may need a different version of Forscan. I did see over in the non-sync to Sync 3 upgrade thread (https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/how-to-sync-3-4-swap-for-non-sync-3-xl-xlt.11860/) that the APIM information is under 7D0-01-01 - 7D0-10-05. The APIM is showing under Forscan there, so hopefully we can find a way to get it to show up for you as well. I hope this can get us closer to the answer.

Success (sort of). After repeated failures trying to change the animation setting I loaded in a 22 Ranger profile. I opened the Ranger APIM and changed the splash screen to Raptor. It actually worked. But the shut down animation is still the Ford logo. Pretty sure the splash screen and animation are different. Perhaps @EONR24 can tell us if his splash screen and the shut down animation are the same. I'm going to contact the Forscan admins and tell them about no APIM,

Yeah I think Forscan needs an update to show the APIM or a different ob2 adapter needs to be used and it sounds like you can rule the obd2 adapter out.

So changing the branding or the splash screen in my XL does nothing at all. I have tested out different settings for both and there is no change in my XL. My splash screen is set to disabled in the IPC MODULE and my branding in the ACM is ford type 1. Idk if this helps but I hope it does!

Sorry I think I misunderstood. The ST animation shows up when I get into the Maverick initially and when I exit the car after turning the engine off. Same as the ford logo did previously. It looks like you are making progress with getting it working. Maybe someone can shed some light on why it would only show up when entering the vehicle and not exiting. Is there a setting for an ST vehicle instead of RAPTOR? I hope you get it working!

Does anyone know where to find the setting to reset the transmission's adaptive learning?

Also, I'd like to put in a Bronco Sport 6.5" cluster but I would rather have the Maverick cluster animation. I know this has to be a hex value somewhere. I don't suppose you guys would know how to change that value to get a different animation?
For something like transmission learning reset,
I would click on Service Procedures in Forscan, which is the big Wrench icon. Also Look for other Ford Forums for the location of the same procedure.

For the new bigger cluster, there are forums on here that explain it better but for the most part you can load your IPC and IPMA module settings from your old cluster straight to your new one. There might be some differences, look around for cluster swap forums.

That's correct. There are about 10 different screens in the Ranger APIM including the ST. I just picked the Raptor at random. I'll probably change it.

I’m currently finding more menus that are unlockable via Forscan. Some useful, some not at all, some don’t show up at all, maybe because I have the base model instrument cluster and not the fancy one. Also, There is an option for a bigger 10 inch radio screen which has already been leaked for the 2025. My next goal with Forscan is to truly eliminate the seatbelt menu. I will have to use hex codes. If I cannot do this, I will be swapping in the digital cluster from an escape like others have done.
Just a thought... I believe the dreaded seat belt pop up can be turned off via options menus (not Forscan) in '22s. Maybe getting a screen from a Mav rather than an Escape would be smoother. Check these forums to make sure I am remembering correctly!

I think they changed it on the 2024s where the seatbelt screen can’t be turned off but you’re right I think a swap to the 6.5 in screen from another maverick would be the smoothest install. I have found the coding line in the Instrument cluster module to change that should get rid of the seatbelt menu but no luck so far. I’m thinking the RCM (restraint control menu) has a coding keeping the menu up but who knows. I saw a YouTube video where a European focus has coding done to remove the seatbelt menu. I’m not sure why it won’t work on my 2024 Maverick. Here’s the video. Seatbelt Menu Disable 2019 Focus Europe
