What I found at the time was my perfectly-working Android phone could not have the OS updated to the current level needed by the FordPass app. Certainly, Androids have security and feature updates available, but the native OS level never changes. My guess is, the OP's phone is OS level 8 or lower, so once Ford migrated to OS-9 as a minimum, the Android failed to work with the app. Yes, work-arounds like Mudduck suggested are available, but the casual user will not attempt that.I'm not entirely sure what you mean but Android phones can definitely be updated and have a similar, albeit slightly shorter and more complicated, support life from Google / Android.
I'm currently using a iPhone 12, at OS level 26.5, which is a long way from where that phone started.
Trust me, the last thing I wanted to do was buy a new phone, but as more and more apps required a higher OS level, I really had little choice.
