Ford fixed hood shake with foam tube

Found this while washing Mini today. Guess they heard about the hose insert trick and decided to use foam tube. They put a garment tag through each end to keep it in place. Truck built early April. Sorry if this was posted already.

Ok. I didn't think it was that funny, but I thought that's what those little plastic tags were called? They hold the label on a garment so you know the price and size. Or am I missing that you're laughing at Ford for using them?

My 2/2022 production has that fix, and the hood has quite a solid thud when it closes. I've noted that the alignment at the left rear of the hood (at the base of the windshield, driver's side) with the fender is terrible tho. The passenger side looks good.

I spotted it when I got mine, but looking at the pictures of some of the people who purported to have had and fixed hood shake even they had the foam inserts already. Notice all of these have the plastic retainer/insert visible

I fixed mine I attachEd garage wall protector . What big a big difference. I would say cut it longer got it in Amazon 4 large piece

I just installed the Aeroskin 2 today, and it caused the hood flutter. Bought 4ft. of 1/2" heater hose for $8 at AutoZone. Split it lengthwise and put it over the rear hood seal.
Almost removed all the flutter at highway speed. Still a little but it's in the middle of the hood, more like flexing. Could have been there before and I didn't notice.

Pop your hood, and look up near the windshield on passenger and drivers side there is a square hole and these fit in perfectly. They pop right in and a few adjustments later problem solved

Mine only had the hood flutter after I added the Aeroskin 2 deflector. The foam was already there, including those tags. I added the hose and adjusted the front bumpers to fix the Hood flutter.

All that looks to be is caulk backer rod at any hardware store
