The gains on the intake are small at peak numbers, the gains where the truck was previously going 9.x:1 AFR's is big, changing the intake got the AFR's at those points into the higher 10's, still rich but better than 9.x:1.

I'll dyno your truck free if you buy the intake and stand here to witness it all.
I might just take you up on that! I’m near Akron so I’m close by…

I've been building these cars since 1989. We've tried it all, shields, boxes, blah blah blah. As I've stated, the only way to get colder air to the filter is to remove it from the engine bay or get enough ducting to it that a sealed box will work. You'll also find that because of air movement while actually driving the engine bay is cool, it's when you stop and sit that the under hood temps increase dramatically.
To play devils advocate and as I’m not familiar enough w the Evo platform…
I wonder how the engine bay temps will be effected by the underbody panels on the maverick. Seems like less air will be able to enter the engine compartment from the bottom. Are the evo’s also covered underneath?

9:1 AFR at sea level is really rich. I hope the ECU leans it out a bit for those of us at altitude. Ford engineers are playing it extremely safe on the stock tune and lots of power left on the table. This is actually good news for those of us interested in an aftermarket tune.
I wonder if they did this since they expect the platform to tow and haul more than the other chassis' that is shared with the 2.0t? Extra safe!

Easiest way for now is just give us a call, 567-424-0471. 9-5 EST.
I had no idea you were in Ohio … that makes me super excited to order parts. I’ve told myself I should wait until I pick it up later this month lol

Look I have no dog in this fight as a Hybrid orderer but I'm kinda tiring of Buscher spamming the boards as some sort of higher authority. He uses terms like "horrible" and "terrible" and generally shits on Ford engineering while he's out here advertising "OIl Separators. DONE!!!" while the pictures show some half ass baked product with a bead my 7 year old could crank out.

I just hope all you EB owners and orderers aren't sitting here fawning over what this guy is doing. Every single factory turbo since the beginning of factory turbos have left LOTS of power on the table in the name of engine longevity and durability. There are LOTS of parts in the drivetrain not meant to handle the power these engines are capable of.

What he's shown in this thread can be accomplished for about $100 with a K&N filter and piping.

Again, ymmv - but kinda tiring of BUSCHUR DOES THIS!!!! BUSCHUR OVERSELLING THAT!!!!
Oh, FFS lighten up. Objectively, I'm gonna wait until independent dyno tests confirm, but 10hp just for getting a new air intake is huge. There is no danger to any component whatsoever unless you beat on it. If he's first to market, he gets to crow a little. Pop a beer and chill.

The EVO has a factory under tray and a much tighter more compact engine bay. The Maverick's engine bay is actually HUGE.

Almost all manufacturers have way over rich AFR's at WOT, actually every single platform I've ever tuned (which is substantial) runs overly rich AFR's at WOT. Also have to keep in mind, where these gains were made, the 27 whp, is at the top of 4th gear, which is getting close to 90 mph. There aren't many, if any, situations where this Maverick is going to be towing in 4th at 90 mph at WOT.

in California unless it is CARB compliant with a sticker and number, it will not smog and no license renewal. Wonder if this will have CARB approval? Might cost more if it did. I'm leaving my Maverick engine bay alone for awhile.
when I lived in CA and had an open filter intake system I kept the original OEM unit in a box. Then would switch them out back to OEM every 2 years when I needed to go smog the truck. Go pass the test and put open unit back on for 2 more years. CARB can kiss my ass!

I'll make you the same offer, if you want to drive here for an independent test on the dyno, we will dyno your truck and install it, with you here as a witness. You buy the part, the dyno and install is FREE.

I don't manipulate dyno numbers, I don't cheat, I don't lie. I'll make this offer to anyone for a limited time to show what I post is the truth.

We built a few EVO's for a very rich guy in California. It had to pass the appearance inspection, it was a PITA. The factory air box on the EVO is restrictive like the Maverick. We cheated it and cut the base off, squeeze a 4" cone inside and reinstalled the entire top. Outside looked factory, that car made mid 500's If I remember right.

We are busy building the parts, getting materials in and best of all having some very cool stuff CNC'd. We've got a few orders already so I'm happy, I think this is going to be a great platform, hell I parked my F150 3.5EB and have been driving the Maverick!

Once we get parts on the shelf we can make some deals.

Ive got no issue putting the Cold air intake on the truck, but im waiting until Ford Performance or Roush does it since their build will not void the factory warranty. If you can offer documentation from Ford ill consider this instead.

Buschur's 2022 Maverick intake! Built, dyno tested and ready for sale! Amazing results actually, much more than I expected!

First, these dyno runs were done TODAY, baseline with the stock filter/airbox was done back to back with the Buschur intake. All runs were done with the hood CLOSED.

The truck runs very rich from the factory as I noted after the baseline runs. AFR's dropped into the 9's at the top of 4th gear.

After the filter kit install the AFR's were much better staying in the upper 10's at the top of 4th which equated to a big horsepower increase!

As you can see, anywhere in the graph where there is a higher line, this is after the new intake was installed, the entire 1st-4th graph is posted along with just fourth gear. The graph is MPH based.

4th gear gains:
Peak power was the same but as you can see the entire curve is improved and FLAT compared to the stock air box.

At 73 mph the stock air box was 192 whp/142 ft lbs, with our intake the numbers were 200 whp, 149 ft lbs.

At 85 mph the stock air box was 170 whp/108 ft lbs, with our intake the numbers were an amazing 196 whp/125 ft lbs.

That is a +26 whp and +17 ft lbs of torque at 85 mph. Those are absolutely awesome gains.

I drove the truck home last night as we actually finished this yesterday and thought I could feel a difference. The turbo noise/compressor bypass valve can all be heard now so I figured it was just the "it sounds cooler so it's faster" results. After having it on the dyno, it is for sure a major plus!

These will be powder coated in wrinkle black too. Really great improvement to the looks of the engine bay too.

Priced at $199.

Is that a KnN filter ? Does the onboard computer reset to new filter?
