First service - what is needed?

Dropped off my 2024 Hybrid Lariat today for it's first service. It's 9 months and 2480 mi driving from purchase. I;ve had Zero issues, the drive and 40.7 overall mileage has been a dream. Aside from doing a overall vehicle check and an oil change (I requested synthetic oil), what are the standard tasks at this point to be accomplished? The dealer said something about doing a tire rotation but as that seemed way too early I declined. Comments, recommendations?

Unless you are driving in very dusty conditions it is too early for air or cabin filters. Oil should be all you need. Make sure they use full synthetic!

Thanks! YUP when I checked on the oil to be used they said they routinely use "a blend," so I asked for full and said I'd pay the difference. I'll be sure to read the bill to ensure they followed through.

Owner Checks and Services
Make sure you perform the following basic maintenance checks and inspections every month or at six-month intervals.

Check Every Month
Engine oil level.
Function of all interior and exterior lights.
Tires, including spare, for wear and proper pressure.
Windshield washer fluid level.

Check Every Six Months
Battery connections. Clean if necessary.
Body and door drain holes for obstructions. Clean if necessary.
Cooling system fluid level and coolant strength.
Door weatherstrips for wear. Lubricate if necessary.
Hinges, latches and outside locks for proper operation. Lubricate if necessary.
Parking brake for proper operation.
Seatbelts and seat latches for wear and function.
Safety warning lamps (brake, ABS, airbag and seatbelt) for operation.
Washer spray and wiper operation. Clean or replace blades as necessary.

1 Brake, coolant recovery reservoir, automatic transmission and window washer.

It's hard having a dealer do it. Just because a "Bill" says it...doesn't mean that actually used it. How is that possible you say?? You aren't there it actually see it. Wish the service world was more honest...but you only know 100% if you change the oil yourself.

i don’t trust but a very few people to work on my cars.a bill shows you how much money you just lost not doing it yourself.sure,transmission goes out take it to someone capable of fixing it but general maintenance learn to do it yourself

Agreed. I took my 23 Hybrid to dealership for 1st service (oil & filter change and tire rotation). Specified to use synthetic. Upon pick up, I checked the tires to make sure they were rotated. (I had discretely marked them.) Tires weren't rotated. Pointed it out to the Service Manager. He apologized and said ..., took it back right away for the rotation and brought back (rotated).
If I can't trust a dealership to do something as basic as rotate the tires, how do I know they actually changed the oil, let alone replaced it with full synthetic?

Can be a drag but I recommend asking family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, neighborhood chats for a reputable service shop. It should also cost less than a dealership.

If anybody is in the Miami Shores / Miami area, I can give you the name of one we trust and use.

Also…….
Try marking (just a scratch will do it) the oil filter. Pulling the filter will spill some oil. So they may as well do the oil change too.
Without oil analysis, and unless the oil is very dirty, really no way to test if it’s been changed.

Just the oil change. I never rotate tires but I know some do.

Yep...same for me on the tire rotation. They did rotate...but just went front to back. On the Hybrid FWD, you are supposed to cris-cross the fronts to the back and move backs straight to the front. No big deal....but I HATE when attention to detail is missed on something you entrust someone to take care of.

How do you know what oil used? I changed my oil at 2k I always do my first change around 2k and 4/5k after that, when asked adviser if the used full syn he looked lost and looked at his coworker than said Sure. I don't trust them!! No way to confirm..
