Still not buying the verbal gymnastics..maybe my 'generation' is not so tolerant with the corruption of meaning...been around the block...been scammed by Ford back in the 70's..selling 70's as 71's...and a host of other marketing scams...at some point you say..enough is enough..say what you mean..sell the product with full clear disclosure of what "First" means..treat your premium payers with some level of respect..but don't word game us into cheap ploys..this is not acceptable..but then I am a simple 7 decade old car buyer...what the hell do I know.
Man... if you've been scammed by Ford since the 70's, maybe stop buying Fords? There are lots of brands out there.

First Edition's for Ford are Special "Loaded" models that ship in the first model year of a new design. Does not mean you will get it first. Look at the Bronco Sports and full size Broncos. They started shipping way before the Maverick and people are still receiving their FE's of those models after other buyers. Like was said before, we are in a strained parts market and distribution right now and car's with extra gadgets and doo-hickeys will probably feel that strain more then a base XL with no options. It sucks, I understand the frustration, I waited 4 months for an F150 PowerBoost which is not that bad but felt like eternity. Hang in there, they are worth it in the end.
'Hang in there' ..is a nice thought..except if you are planning major travel plans 6 months in advance..and want to guarantee the best possible outcome for not going bankrupt..this is not even a close call..like 1 or 2 months out...they saw this coming and still 'pushed' the concept of 'first edition'...I am not not not buying the spin...most of the responders think of it as in 'inconvenient' schedule to their luxury buy..mine is not.

It is NOT 'reasonable' when the marketing/sales senior team CHOSE those words. It is NOT a mystery of luck that those words were chosen. They CHOSE those words to suck revenue in a plan that was questionable. Don't sugar coat it...this is NO mistake in marketing...they were just planning on a quiet..easy..customer base that would buy into it. Get real...unless for course you work for Ford..
Sir, I'm sure your potato skins will be out soon.

I've been a part of this forum long enough to see one of these types of posts to pop up every few weeks, and the subsequent 18 pages of snarky, thoughtful, and everything in between kind of replies, that I don't even bother anymore.

P.S.
You guys are lagging. We're only up to 8 pages of replies in 3 hours. I know you guys can do better than this.

Then there is the part about how the Ford builder on the website last June and July stated clearly "Late Availability" with the First Edition. Maybe that might have been a clue.

Perhaps I should be mad since my Hybrid I ordered in June that was from Ford's marketing headlines in June about $19,995 and 40 mpg is still not here - coming long after people who ordered an EcoBoost in September get theirs. But.....I'm not.
Yes late availability should have been a clue but Rich Apple's issue is Ford should have prioritized these builds as true First Edition, not Last Edition.

Ok...do I have your attention Ford? We made an early commitment to your advertised, pushed, premium prices 'First Edition'. And for myself, I am really, really, really not happy (do you catch where this is going?).

How in the mental world of any entry level marketing genius, do you expect the down right exclusion of 'First Edition' buyers to not being 'FIRST EDITION" receivers. How in this twisted world of politically correct, don't affend, get it for free society..do you expect to NOT get huge blow back for simply shifting your business model to NOT serve the 'First Edition' buyers..first. What planet is your business/marketing/public relations group on...or do they simply work remote from human interaction.

Is this Edsel 2.0 ???
Poor fella thought ordering the most expensive model would get him a seat at the front of the line. First Edition means the first year of the model and you aren't guaranteed to get it based on Bronco reservation holders.

Sit tight, or cancel your order. Definitely drink a few beverages.

Didn't some wise guy a long time ago say that the first would be last, and the last would be first? Maybe that's the way Ford works? 😁

oh my...it is either black or while...no judgement involved..you don't think a 'first edition' that arrives 6 months AFTER other orders is out of line...do you work for Ford..this is just a bit hillarious!..if it wasn't so sick!

I do not work for Ford but i have worked for companies that had marketing plans designed to separate every possible dollar from the consumer. It's due to the fact that they are in business to make money. Its up to the consumer to make the cost/value assessment I'm a pretty thrifty guy who has always been amazed at what some people perceived as value when making purchases.. My dealer made it abundantly clear to me that they had no idea when my truck would be made. Shame on your dealer if they lead you to believe First Edition meant first produced.. Unfortunate for you if you made that assumption. We all know what happens when we make assumptions
