I have a couple of super tiny, unable to get a photo, needle point sized chips, if you call them that. So small that even a toothpick is on the large size to fill in with touch-up.

Oddly, one is midway up the tailgate, and I'm dumbfounded how anything would manage to contact the tailgate to make that super tiny chip. I can't image a stone flying over the cab and bed, and then arcing back into the tailgate. I'm also certain I would have noticed it in one of many times of washing and wiping it down, if it had been there since purchase. I've used a water spot remover, initially Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Graphene Infused Wax (horrible streaking), then Liquid Glass which removed the streaking, cleaned it well a couple weeks later and applied Ceramic Coating (concentrate), and have several times since applied ceramic spray detailer on average every two weeks, after washing. - Working on building up that layer of ceramic coating, and she is super shiny and sheds water almost before it hits the surface. I'm at a loss how that one has manifested itself, as I don't drive backwards on the highway.

On the positive side, the front is perfect, possibly in part to the Hood Deflector II, which covers the hood and front leading edge of the fender tops. The other two are super tiny needle point sized specs on the passenger side rear door, right at the ridge line, which I've also touched up, and even have splash guards installed. - Maybe I'll PPF the lower doors, below the painted BSM strips, or add some classing to the lower door.

This happened in March after coming back from Asheville. Dropped my friend off at her house, and while I was backing out of her driveway in a torrential downpour (couldn't see anything in backup camera) gave the group mailbox post a little kiss.

Fix it...or leave it as a beauty mark?

I got my truck two weeks ago and noticed the other day a nice scratch on the glove box. I think it was my wife picking up her purse from the ground on the passenger seat. That or one of my sweet, calm children lol

Backed in to the garage to do some lighting work in the bed. Didn’t back in quite far enough and the garage door hinge scratched deep in to my front bumper when closing the garage door.

Disregard the week’s collection of bugs.

I would have that PDR'd (Paintless Dent Repaired) as long it's the only mark on it. I have found thru experience, that once I start getting the tailgate marked up (dented/scratched, etc.), I'm more careless and it only makes matters worse. If your reddy to let that begin, just let it go.

What should I expect to pay for something like that? There's a great body shop near me that has helped me out in the past after getting a scratch on my Honda Accord after an unfortunate rock/lawnmower situation. Thanks!

You did a good job on that. My '09 Ford Ranger I would find dings on every so often at my old apartment complex. Every night the lot was full no spots near the building at all. One night I came out and saw an empty spot next to me and I had a bad feeling. Sure enough a small no.2 pencil eraser sized dent with a crease and some missing paint. Also found white paint swipe marks on the corner of my shadow black bumper. Fun times.

Had a '99 Ranger that had a tree branch fly off and smash into the hood leaving a softball sized dent on the hood. Sad thing is I knew a bad storm was coming so I parked away from the tree. My sister was parked right under it....not one thing hit it.

Also had a '99 Buick Regal GS for my first car. Had to park in the street because there wasn't enough driveway space. Neighborhood kids would ride bikes doing wheelies in the road without hands on the bars most of the time. Came out one day and found a handle sided dent on my passenger door towards the street.

Some people have no respect for other people's things. The amount of bad drivers and parkers gives me so much anxiety. Tacked on with general lack of empathy is a nice combo.

Truck was only 1 week new when some Asshat decided to crunch my front fender. Body work is now done, paint on Tuesday. I decided to remove my grill bar to have it painted cyber orange too since other paint work is being done.

Update: Repairs completed. installed some upgrades too.

A good part of the cost of PDR is how accessable the panel is on the backside. I don't have my Maverick yet, but assuming it would be accessable through at least the opening in the bottom of the tailgate (that I heard about on here) it should be under $100. I had two nickel sized dents removed from a Toyota for $80.

For that price it would be worth it.

Proud of you mate. I know many of us like to criticize brands for using plastic on their cars, but it's very durable, easy to repair, and cheap to replace if we have to. It's a smart material, especially for something like a truck.

It really is quite pathetic how little some care about other people's property, what someone sees as harmless, someone else sees as disrespectful. I remember when I was growing up TP'ing houses was a big trend. These kids did that to an elderly couple on my street, one of whom had terminal cancer.

My friend and I were at a sleepover with them, and were so disgusted, we left early to go clean it up for the couple. I don't understand making life harder, or worse for people, even if it's a small thing. Maybe it's because I grew up with constant stress and anxiety due to a number of trying times for my family. So I was never bored enough to go out and "prank" other people, or was never petty enough to damage someone's property for my own amusement or due to carelessness.

The issue is, those same kids who grew up egging people's homes much of the time didn't learn to respect people, or their property. Now, they hit a car, and instead of making it right, they try to find ways to avoid facing the consequences of their actions.

Less than 2k miles on it and I have joined the club with a similar dent in the tailgate at work, but at the upper body line below the plastic trim, not the worst spot to get hit and should be an easy repair. The paint looks marred a little that hopefully buffs out, but looks mostly OK with maybe a tiny chip or imperfection at the top. If work is paying, is Paintless Dent Removal preferred since it preserves original paint and no body filler or blending, or is paint and body work better?
