I am a firm believer in the "Maverick glass is softer than other brands" claim. Driving home from the dealership (I will admit it was a 1,700 mile trip over 2.5 days) gained me about 7-10 very obvious pits/dings in my windshield. Plus a small half inch moon shaped scratch which I assume was from the wiper blades dragging something.

This is with me not tailgating anyone, not driving behind any semi trailers or other heavy haulers, sticking to the freeways, not hearing anything hit my windshied, running thru an entire gallon of washer fluid keeping the windshield relatively clear of crap, etc.......
The bigger chips give off shards the get all gummed up in the wipers and then scratch up the windshield. The safelite guy should me on the rental I had, pretty frustrating.

I think the Maverick's windshield is magnetic, cause it sure attracts everything.

Haha so true. Rain x makes a good chip repair kit for $10 at Walmart. I’ve used it about 5-6 times on 3 different cars. 3 kits, does about 2-3 chips per kit.

Got my first scratch at the dealer. When I had my airbag recall done, the mechanic must have rubbed up against the body right by the drivers door with a tool or something. I tell you, everytime I pick my vehicle up after service I do a walk around to check for damage. That's what it's come to these days.

When I was in high school ( many many years ago ) I work at the local Ford dealership washing cars. One day a well known farmer came in to pick up a new truck for his farm. He actually got out of the car with his wife, walked over to the new truck and hit the side of the bed with a hammer. He looked at me and said “ The first one is the only one that hurts”. What a stooge.

Flat tire count? Haven't had a flat in 9 years driving a small car with bare tires. 1st week with the Mav, same highway I always drive and I got some kind of nail. Tire was no able to be repaired. Full size spare was great
I had this happen back in June 2023. Got the TPS warning and checked air pressure...yeah, kinda low. Thought I'd be able to make it to the mechanic across from my job. Got to next stop light and a woman in a Jeep flagged me down and pointed. I pulled into a parking lot and...ah crud, flatter than an IHOP pancake.

I took it as a sign from God: "Don't cross the bridge into work, Jennifer!" Took day off to go get a new tire.

I took guitar lessons from a guy when I was in HS. I pulled up to his studio one day and he was out in the parking lot - punching the hood of his car. He said he had an adjuster coming later to look at some hail damage and he was trying to get a bigger check lol. He said, "4 years of karate are finally going to pay off."

I have a small chip on my tailgate. Possibly from me but I am still really precious with my truck so I don't think so. The neighbor's landlord had a guttering crew working on their house the day before I noticed the chip, though, and they kept cutting across our driveway behind my truck. I tried to find evidence on our driveway camera but there were literally 700 events recorded that day just from them walking around so I decided it would be easier just to paint pen it.

not taking pictures... but I have two good dings in the left and right quarter panels between the rear doors and wheel arches (appear to be from other car doors), with each ding having a good size chip or two as well. Have probably another 4 paint chips in doors and fenders and 4 big scratches on 2 door and 2 quarter panels. Nothing on the hood, bumper, or front fenders, so no the plastic film wouldn't have prevented the damage I have. No automatic washes, only hand washes... 6 weeks of ownership.... Think I'm going to look into ceramic coating...

I posted about sunscreen damage to some interior plastics on another thread as well. LOL..

Anyway, it's a bit liberating.... it's broken in now...

June 2023 the 42 year old Larper driving the opposite way loses his front tire and it smacks both my driver side doors which were eventually replaced to the tune of just under $5k on my insurance because he was uninsured uninspected with expired tags. 3 weeks and 1500 miles on my truck.

2 weeks ago a 20 something who looked like a druggie homeless tried to ride his bike full speed across the road between stopped cars gouged my front fender, cursed me and rode away quickly as I called the cops. Don't want to engage the insurance company again because of likely rate increases so it looks like $600 out of my pocket. 50/50 if I do this, or buy a splatted Wiley Coyote sticker and slap it over the spot.

Think I have everyone beat for the fastest!

I have this thing where I hate front plates. I always ask dealers not to install them. For this truck I noted it on the order and everytime I emailed the salesman. He was cool about it. I went to pick up the truck and all was well.

I signed the papers and another salesman was there said he'd go put the temp tag on. Turns out, he passed it off to a lot guy to wash it and the lot guy thought someone missed that part of the PDI and got the bottom two holes drilled in before he was stopped. So I didn't even make it off the lot!

Luckily it is only in the lower bumper, not the painted part. Dealer bought me a new lower bumper and I said I'd put it on myself since I'm going to install DD fog lights anyway (and, I don't trust other people for obvious reasons!)

Hail storm last week got me. Maybe ins would fix it, but it is just a tonneau. They just paid of my daughters side swiped car and if I file another claim my rates will go up. I can live with this.
